Yesterday she had missed school. And today she didn't even bother showing up. It wasn't like Gina was heartbroken and crying her eyes out, it was that she was trying to come up with the perfect plan to show Nini that she was ready.

In the middle of all her planning she had, what she likes to call, a light bulb moment. She had spoken to her father, and she didn't care if she didn't necessarily believe in what happened but all she knew was that she spoke to him.

She realized that Nini had technically gotten their relationship back when she stood outside her window and sang her that unfinished song. A song that was now finished because they both worked on it together.

She wasn't going to do that exactly but she was going to sing Nini a song. A song that said a lot, maybe Gina couldn't always be straight up about her feelings, but she could be through song. And having that conversation with her dad and hearing him say his approved... she knew exactly what song she was going to write.

So Gina spent the whole day writing the song, from the minute she woke up after the dream until just before this. She was standing outside of Nini's front door. She knew that because it was a Thursday night that Momma D and Momma C would be working late at Trade. And she was thankful for that because she didn't want an audience for this, she wanted to actually have a moment with Nini.

Gina checked her phone once again. The time was 8:42 pm and she had multiple missed calls and unread texts. From all of her friends and even Ricky. She opened up her phone and read the messages that Nini had sent her. The other girl was worried when Gina didn't show up to first or second period, but she was even more worried when she realized that Gina hadn't shown up to school period. It wasn't like Gina to just skip a day of school. So all of her friends blew up her phones with notifications. And of course to Gina that just meant putting her phone on Do Not Disturb.

Gina locked her phone again and put it in her back pocket before leaning forward and knocking on Nini's door loudly. Within minutes Nini opened the door and she stood there shocked.

"Hi"

Nini finally realized that the girl she thought was avoiding her was at her front door.
"H-hey. Come in"

Nini opened her front door fully and the both of them stood at by it awkwardly before Gina pointed upstairs. Nini nodded her head quickly and both girls quickly moved to Nini's room.

Nini completely forgetting that she had been on group facetime with their friends, trying to figure out how to reach Gina.

Once the two were in Nini's room there was a certain level of awkwardness that both girls really weren't used to with each other. It was always easy going with them.

"Gina I-"

Nini wanted to apologize for the day before. She knew that she shouldn't have said no just like that and she felt bad about it. She just wasn't sure if it was the correct move. If they should really be going to dance together so soon. Especially because Nini didn't know what going to the dance meant. Of course they'd be each other's dates but would that mean that they'd be dating? She had no clue.

Gina however didn't let her continue to talk. She quickly cut her off and stood up from the bed that they had both been sitting on.

"Do you mind if I use your piano?"

Nini was shocked at the question but she shook her head. She wasn't sure what Gina was going to do, or well sing but she knew that she wasn't really prepared for it.

Gina slowly walked to the keyboard and started playing random keys. She was nervous herself and she didn't know how to exactly approach the situation. She took a deep breath and then actually started playing the song. Nini stared at her because she had never heard the melody of this song.
