JUST stop here.” she said to the driver. “Please wait. I’ll go get the payment inside my house.”
He nodded. She opened the door and hopped of the cab then walked towards the house. It’s dark inside. She knocked at the door. Then she forgot that she doesn’t have the key. "I hope someone’s inside," she prayed.
Seconds later, someone opened it. “Haruki?” a guy asked as he scratch his eye. Seems like he’s in the middle of a deep sleep.
“Kazune! Let’s catch up later. I’ll just go pay the service.” she said as she point out the cab.
“I’ll handle it.” He walked towards the driver and paid. Then he hurriedly walked back inside.
“Thanks.” she shyly said.
He then close the door and turn on the lights. “Is this true? Are you really back to your body?”
“Yes. I could even touch you. See?” she said as she poked him.
“Thank God!” he exclaimed. He hugged her tight and swing her around. When he let go of her, she wobbled from dizziness. “Oh, sorry.”
“It’s okay. I understand how happy you are. It’s very obvious.”
“Yeah, I’m so happy!” He beamed then suddenly pecked her on her lips
Her eyes widened in shock. When he finally realized it, he averted. “Sorry, I didn’t know what I just did.”
She cleared her throat. “Yeah.”
“Anyways, have you eaten already?” he asked, changing the topic.
“Actually, not yet.”
“Then I’ll prepare some food. What do you want?”
“Just give me a cup of coffee, I guess.”
“Coffee? That’s it? What an appetite.”
“Yeah. Besides, I’m not yet hungry.”
He nodded and headed to the kitchen. She examined the house. Nothing has changed. The furniture was still there. Thank goodness no one dared to rob the house. She sat down on a comfy sofa and waited.
Kazune arrived, holding two cups. He gave her the brown coffee and his was black. He sat at the couch in front of her.
“Kazune.” she called his name softly.
“Yes?” he asked then sipped his coffee.
“Thank you for watching over the house while I’m away.”
“Nah. It’s nothing.”
“But still, I thank you… not only for taking care of this place but also for helping me.”
“You’re always welcome. I’ll do anything to help you.” he said as he stare at her straight into her eyes which made her feel uneasy.
She didn’t help but blink. She just drink her coffee, avoiding his gaze.
