"Nai, I picked him up this afternoon, where are you?" Samara fussed at Nayeli over the phone. Her flight back to Louisiana got delayed like four hours, and she was irritated and sleepy, ready to get in the bed. She called Samara to see if Armani had been back, because he wasn't answering and she was getting nervous.
"Oh he did? Good. He must be sleeping," she sighed in relief. Her anxiety flared up badly when he didn't text her back but she was glad he was okay. "I'm just now boarding, the plane got delayed so far back. Are you still available to come get me or—"
"Duh sis, no question," she said, making Nai smile.
"Thank you, Lea,"
"Of course, best! I'll see you soon okay?" she chirped happily.
"See you," Nai nodded and then they ended the call. Nayeli was really happy she got Samara as a roommate, she had truly found one of her best friends in her. Bri was such a sweetheart as well, between those two, college had blessed her in the friendship department.
She wasn't really close to anyone in school, which she only realized after she graduated. She figured they were only friends because she saw them five days a week and on most weekends.
But those two were different, she could see them being in her life for the long run.
Once she got off the plane, she immediately called her mother to let her know she was finally back in Louisiana. She was headed towards the door to the airport, backpack in hand, and let out a yawn. It was already 9:30 and she had class the next morning.
She texted Lea to see where she was, and let her know she was right out front. As she exited, she looked for her friends car, confused when she finally saw it. She saw not only Samara but a guy. She thought it might be Meech, but he wasn't that tall. As she got closer, he started to look much more familiar, and she literally started a little jog to get to him faster.
"Is she running?" Lea asked, watching her friend moving quickly toward them.
"She is," Armani laughed, throwing his head back. "She so cute,"
