"Hi baby," Nai said, walking in to Armani sitting on the sofa with a smile on his face.. It was March now and had been 6 months since Nai and Mani got married. They were loving life together so far, it was just as blissful as their relationship had already been.
Outside of home though Nayeli had been more than a little stressed out. Her workload was steadily growing and with that came more kids. She didn't mind it at all but these kids home lives were terrible. She'd done well so far with placing children in foster care and forever homes but it seemed like every time she placed a child another stack of paper was on her desk for a new one.
"Hi mi amor," he stood to greet her, wrapping his arms around her waist, pressing a kiss to her lips. "You okay, pretty girl? You look updated," he asked, rubbing her back.
"I'm okay babe, just tired," she sighed. There was one child in particular that she felt was giving her the most anxiety. She would talk about it with him but he looked extremely happy today, and she didn't wanna dampen his mood. "You look very happy, papa," she said, and he nodded. "Had a good day?"
"Yup. I been waiting on you to come home so I can tell you," he said excitedly.
"Oh really? Okay I'm all ears what happened?"
"Ya boy got promoted!" he exclaimed. Her jaw immediately dropped and she hugged him tightly. She knew how hard he'd been working lately and to hear that he was getting the recognition he deserved was enough to brighten her day.
"Are you serious Armani?! I'm so proud of you baby!" she said, grinning, momentarily forgetting about everything she had going on. "Armani," she pouted. "I'm so happy for you baby,"
"Thank you mamas. Thank for supporting me and staying up late to wait on me, and bringing me lunch and everything you do. You're a bomb ass wife, you know that? Everything I do, I do for you. Every time I walk out that door I do it for you," he said, holding her face in his hands. "I love you baby,"
"I love you papa," she smiled, puckering her lips for another kiss, which he gladly gave. "We gotta celebrate babe! What do you wanna do? You wanna go out to eat? Lemme treat you!"
"We don't gotta go out to eat, and and spend money mamas. We can stay in, you wanna cook? I love when you cook," he smiled innocently.
"I can cook for you if that's what you want, babe," she giggled. "It's not gonna be as good as yours but I can try a lil something if you really want me too,"
"I really do," he nodded.
She told him okay and went to go wash up. When she got upstairs she tried her best to purge her negative emotions by letting it out in the shower. That usually helped her a lot when she wanted to feel better, she'd just cry.
After all, he deserved happiness from her. At least today.
