"Your mom? Your birth mom?" she asked, sitting up. As long as they'd known each other, he'd never ever brought her up. Nai didn't wanna push, just in case it was a sensitive subject, but she'd always wondered about his birth family, and if he even remembered them.

"Yeah, I been thinking about it for a while, I just don't wanna upset my mother," he sighed. "I don't know how she'd take it. But as I got older there's just so much I wanna ask her,"

"Well...you should go for it, Mani. I mean if you feel like you should discuss that with her first, then by all means. You remember a lot about your birth mom?" she asked, making him crack a smile.

"Yeah, I remember her. She and my dad," he nodded. "I never really tall about them because...well how I ended up in foster care is a sad ass story, but I feel like I should share it with you, if you wanna hear it of course,"

"Of course," she nodded. He sat up, and got out of bed, looking through a box he had on his desk, trying to find something. He pulled out a necklace, and two pictures, getting back in bed.

"Well, this is her. Her name's Farrah Naomi Dixon," he smiled looking at the picture before handing it to her.

Nayeli smiled upon seeing her as well, it was an old picture, but she looked gorgeous in it

Nayeli smiled upon seeing her as well, it was an old picture, but she looked gorgeous in it. Her hair was short, and her skin was a butterscotch color, like his almost. Her eyes weren't light but they looked kind.

"This is my dad, his name is Jeremiah Kenneth Dixon," he handed over a picture of his parents together. "This was at their wedding, back when they were like 18. I have more but they're at home. They met when she was 8, they were neighbors, and my dad was a goofy ass man, he always bothered her every day, before school, after school, on the weekends all that," he recalled.
