"Sorry mama, he'll be here in like five minutes," Nai smiled nervously, coming back in the room.
"It's okay, Pea, just come sit down," Nadira replied, patting the seat next to her. Nayeli and Nadira were in for the final tasting for the food for their reception.
After Armani proposed on Nai's graduation day, they decided on a day, and immediately began planning. Of course, Nadira was planning her daughter's wedding. She wasn't going to have it any other way.
So far, they'd secured a venue, a caterer, DJ, photographer and videographer.
Nai chose her bridesmaids, as well. Samara would be her maid of honor, Aubrielle, Amora, Pheonyx, November, Josefina and Camila were her bridesmaids. Amani and Cianna were junior bridesmaids and Sarai was the flower girl.
Armani chose Duck ad his best man, of course. Tripp, Josiah, Dallas, Israel, Kareem and Kingston were his groomsmen, while Ajani and Omari were junior groomsmen and they were trying to see if they could get one of his little cousins to be the ring bearer.
Exactly five minutes later, Armani bursted through the door, still in his work uniform, breathing heavily.
"Sorry I'm late," he huffed.
"It's okay, honey, just come sit," Dira waved him over, and he sat next to his fiancée who's eyes were narrowed in his direction.
"How many times did I tell you what time this was at, Keandre?" she asked him quietly.
"I'm sorry, mamas. I really am, I just lost track of time. I'll be on time to...what's next week again?" he asked, making her suck her teeth. "I'm kidding, baby! I'll be on time to the engagement shoot, I swear," he smiled at her, knowing she could never stay mad at him for anything.
"You better, I'll fight you, Armani. I swear I will," she threatened and he simply leaned forward and kissed her lips gently. "That doesn't change anything," she rolled her eyes playfully and he laughed.
