"Excuse me, sir!" Dira yelled into her son's room. "I don't hear that shower going Ajani!" she firmly believed Gionni giving them each their own bathrooms was a mistake.
"I'm going now mama!" he called back, and she stood by the door, arms folded, waiting to hear it come on. Only then did she leave the his doorway.
Tonight was a special night, because she and Nayeli's aunties were throwing her a surprise engagement party. Everyone was being told to meet at the location in about three hours, but having four kids and a husband who took forever to get ready, you had to start early.
"Amani! Are you doing your own hair, or you want me to do it?" Dira called, knocking on Amani's door.
"I got it, mama!" she replied. "Can I show you when I'm done?"
"Yes, baby. Just come in Sarai's bathroom, I'm doing her hair," she chuckled, knowing she'd want her edges done. Sarai had just gotten out the shower herself and was supposed to be picking dresses out from Nadira to choose from. "Hello my love, are you done?"
"Yes ma'am," she cheesed, showing Nadira ten different dresses, making her eyes widen. "I like all of them," Sarai giggled.
"I see," Dira chuckled.
After she got through with Sarai and Amani, she went and checked on her sons again. "Thugga bear!" she called him through the door. He didn't yell back, but she heard him get up and walk towards the door.
"Yes ma'am?" he answered once he opened it up.
"I was just checking on you, baby. You look so handsome," she grinned. Her first born son was already 15, as of last week and she couldn't handle it. She literally remembered the day she went into labor with him.
"Thank you, mama," he smiled, kissing her cheek. She nodded, before telling him to take his iPad and wait downstairs for her and G.
"Jani, you finished, babe?" she knocked lightly on his door, and he pulled it open, fully dressed.
"Yes ma'am!" he grinned, proud of himself.
"Oop okay! Look at my handsome man," she cooed, pinching his cheek like he was still 5 years old.
