"Yeah she's at her final fitting right now," Mani nodded, sitting across the table from Farrah. He decided to take the short trip to Macon to take her out to lunch. "She's so excited about this dress, every time she leaves a fitting or some alterations, she calls me crying," he chuckled.

"That's wonderful, sweetheart," she smiled warmly. "I'm so excited for you two, you make a beautiful couple,"

"Thank you, mama," he grinned. He was so happy his mom was back in his life, he missed her spirit. It made him feel so comfortable. As soon as he was able to be with her again, he realized how much he needed her in his life.

That's why it was so hard for him to get over what his father did. He could imagine how much more stable he'd be if Farrah was around and how much happier she would be and it made him angry every time he thought about it. That was the reason his father wasn't invited to his graduation, and most likely wasn't going to be invited to his wedding.

He believed that someone who purposely destroyed his happiness as a child and young adult shouldn't be invited in spaces that were meant for him to be happy and peaceful. His wedding, his baby showers, a christening, it didn't matter. He meant it when he said Joseph didn't have to worry about seeing him again.

Shaking the negative thoughts from his mind, he refocused and reminded himself why he took his mom out today.

"So, mama. I had a question for you," he asked nervously.

"Sure, honey. What's going on?" she asked gently, leaning her head on her closed fist.

"W-well, I was wondering, for the wedding, um. I was wondering if you wouldn't mind having a dance with me? You know, like a mother son dance?" he rubbed the back of his neck as he talked, he didn't expect to be this nervous.

"A-are you sure sweetheart? I mean I would love to, I just wouldn't want to offend anyone, you know like your mom—"

"My mom's okay with it, she thinks it's a great idea, actually. I just wanted to ask you before I just came to you randomly at the wedding, you know?" he clarified. She and Sofía were still friends, they talked pretty often, and Sofía thought it'd be s lovely moment they could share. So he had to pick two songs now.
