Chapter 22

"I need support Rhodey!"

"Hold it. I got six on my tail."

Rhodey blasted at one of the Chitauri. It spun out of control and hit another one. 

"I'm coming up on your position Tony."

"These creatures are everywhere."

"Have we found the mother ship?"

"Not yet. Danvers search the area for it."

"Already on it Cap."

"I am Groot."

"No, don't hit that button!"

"Give the bomb to Peter."

"Fine. He better not blow us all up."

"Heads up Queens."

Steve threw the bomb in the air, and Peter caught it.

"Where am I throwing this to?"

"Find the mother ship. That's the target."

The Chitauri kept coming in never ending waves. They destroyed buildings in their way, not caring for anything. 

"Thor go get that ship over there."

"Is this the best they can do?"

"Don't ask that. It will jinx the mission."

"Sorry."

Thor swung his axe at the ship, watching it explode into pieces. Steve caught Mjolnir, and hit another alien in the face. He threw his shield at a group of them, hitting all of them in the face, and went back into his hand. 

"I found the mother ship."

"Good. Now fire everything on that thing."

Carol flew the ship, blowing up everything. She caught Stormbreaker in mid air, using it to hit the remaining aliens. The mother ship blew up, raining down debris on the team. 

"Get to cover. Falling aliens inbound."

"Watch out for any remaining aliens. They are still lurking."

"There's a group of them at Times Square."

"Everyone meet there. We need to make a new plan."

"Does anyone see the giant face in the sky?"

"Watch out for Galactus."

"It kind of hard to not see him."

"You're not wrong. He's kind of scary."

Thor hopped over smashed cars and the occasional trash can. He saw Tony and Rhodey land next to Steve. Everyone sat there waiting for the next part of the plan. 

"What are we doing next?"

"He's to big to fight now. We wait for him to shrink to his Earth size."

"How's long is that going to take?"

"I don't know. I am not an alien expert."

"Carol, do you know?"

"Give it about five minutes."

They watched the giant face shrink into a large man, who walked towards them. The ground shook, and buildings collapsed. 

"I got eyes on him. It doesn't look like he is stopping."

"Rain fire on that man."

The group started to attack him, dodging his massive arms. Galactus swatted at Tony, who narrowly missed his hand. Rhodey got hit and went flying to the ground.
