Chapter 42

"There is what now?!"

"Surtur is running around New York."

"So we didn't kill everyone."

"I guess not."

"I hate this already. First it was Thanos, then it was Galactus. Now it's Surtur. I swear there is way too many villains."

"All we need to do is find him. Then Thor will kill him easily."

"That's your plan?"

"It will work. I know it sounds simple, but Surtur isn't that big of a threat."

"He is still a threat. We are the Avengers, Earth's mightiest heroes. We defeat any villain threatening our planet."

"Found his location. He's in Central Park."

"Where everyone can see him? That's a good way to go."

"I'll be back in five minutes."

"Hold up Thor. It's not that easy."

"Please. If I had to compare him to Earth standards, Surtur would be a small country."

"A small country!"

Thor left them, grabbed his axe, and headed to Central Park. He saw Surtur walking through the park, lighting trees on fire.

"Thor, son of Odin."

"Surtur, son of a bitch you're still alive!"

"I destroyed your home world, but in order to complete Ragnarok, I have to kill you as well."

"You have attempted it multiple times. But I'm standing right in front of you."

"You are making a grave mistake."

"I make mistakes all the time, and they seem to turn out alright."

Thor smacked Surtur in the face, trying to knock his helmet off. He failed the first time, but knocked it off the second time. The helmet fell to the ground, and Thor picked it up. 

"That was fast. We haven't even finished the plan."

"I told you it would take five minutes."

Thor set the helmet down on the table, and returned to his chair.

"Okay scrap our plan since Thor already did that. We will now focus on defending the Earth. I have made several satellites that orbit the planet, searching for threats. I haven't found anything."

"Can we go now?"

"Sure. Meeting dismissed."

Everyone left the meeting room except Thor and Carol. 

"That looks like a big eyebrow."

"I told him the same thing."

"Don't you have somewhere to be?"

"Ah yes. Frigga wanted to meet me for issues about New Asgard. I'll see you later."

Thor kissed Carol goodbye, and left to New Asgard. She got up from her chair and stared out the window. A plane flew by the compound, leaving a trail of smoke.

Thor appeared in New Asgard, which had been extremely updated. There were more modernized buildings, but the Asgardian Palace looked the same as it always did.

"Mom!"

"Hello Thor."

"I told you about the plan right?"
