~A year later~

I shot awake panting and gripping my chest. I blinked a few times, looked around at the room and sighed. 'You're in your bedroom in Insomnia...' I mentally spoke as I heard a groan beside me, I looked over and saw my sleeping husband. His eyes fluttered open and he looked at me. "Are you all right, my dear?" he asked as I nodded, "yeah..." I lied as he rubbed his eyes, he grabbed his phone and looked at the time. "Are you sure? It's two in the morning...and you're all sweaty..." he whispered as he sat up and caressed my cheek, "I'm fine, my love...go back to sleep..." I whispered as I kissed him on the cheek. We never really shared a real kiss since our wedding, I didn't mind and he didn't seem to mind either. I went to get out of bed but he stopped me. "For better or worse, in sickness and in health..." he spoke as I looked at him, "those were our vows..." he spoke as he looked at me with worry in his eyes. "I know I'm not you were expecting when we first met...but I truly do love you...please talk to me...I can't rest when you're upset and clearly depressed about something..." he spoke as I saw tears start to form in his eyes. "Ardyn, don't think for a second that I don't love you...because I do. I love you with all my heart, ever since my ex...you're the best damn thing that's ever happened to me...I just don't want to talk about it...please let it go" I whispered as he pulled me against his chest and hugged me tightly.

"Y/n...please, I'm not gonna just let this go. You're my wife and there's something obviously bothering you...please just talk to me..." he whispered as I chewed on the inside of my mouth. "M-My ex...wasn't a good man to me like you...he was the complete opposite...mentally and physically abusing me...and then to top it all off...he..." I trailed off as I began to snap the hairband, he picked up on this and sighed. "That's why we haven't..." he started and I nodded before he could finish. He pulled me away and cupped my face. "I told you we'll wait until you're ready...and I meant it...I swear, we won't do anything until you're ready..." he spoke as I stared at him, "c-can we at least kiss? Because I've been wanting to actually kiss you since our wedding" I spoke as he chuckled, "I haven't kissed you because you haven't kissed me...I wanted to respect your personal space and thought you wouldn't want to kiss me" he whispered as I giggled a little, "well, you're wrong" I whispered as I placed my lips on his. He smiled into the kiss and returned the kiss. Our lips moved in sync as I ran my hand up his clothed chest and pushed him onto his back. I climbed onto him, "I-I thought..." he started but I cut him off with another kiss. "We're not doing that...but just because something bad has happened to me...doesn't mean we can't make out..." I whispered as I kissed him passionately, he wrapped his arms around my waist and kissed me passionately. His tongue ran along my bottom and I pulled away. "S-sorry...was I taking it too far?" he asked placed his hands on my hips as I straddled him. I was silent, my thoughts going back to what my ex did to me, and I was snapping the hairband faster.

I knew there was gonna be a red mark on my wrist for a few days with how fast and hard I was snapping the hairband. Ardyn sat up and held me close to him. "Hey," he started as he moved aside some of my hair, "it's gonna be okay. We'll get through this, dearest" he whispered as I smiled and kissed him again. "I love you" I whispered against his lips as he smiled, "but I need sleep" I added as he chuckled, "then sleep, we shall" he spoke as I lay beside him, he wrapped his arm around me and held me close so we were now spooning.

~Next week~

I groaned as I tossed and turned. I sat up and sighed loudly. I looked over at the empty space in the bed, 'I can't sleep without him...' I sighed as I grabbed my phone.

Me: I can't sleep.

Ardyn<3: What's wrong? Did you have a nightmare?

Me: I didn't have a nightmare. I can't sleep cause you're not here...
