              ———————————

Jason was not in the greatest mood.

He had just had to deal with a ton of Black Mask's goons earlier (all equipped with weapons of course), A random drunk guy trying to rob a store, and he had gotten into an argument with both Bruce and Dick.

Yeah, tonight hadn't been his night.

Atleast he could look forward to seeing Sapph tonight.

The only highlight of his life it seemed.

Not that Jason was complaining.

Sapph was amazing.

No doubt about it.

Jason was glad that she had accepted him and loved him, regardless of his many, many issues.

Sapph hated waiting for Jason to get home.

Waiting usually involved pacing around their shared apartment and extremely late-night reading instead of sleeping.

Also, there was that underlying fear that Jason might not come back for one reason or another.

'No,' She thought, 'Don't think about that. Of course he'll come back.'

Instead of pacing like a maniac, Sapph decided to get back to working on her drawing.

It was a rather simple drawing of trees under the moonlight.

Simple, but relaxing.

Suddenly, the window opened and Jason fell in through the window.

Sapph stood up to get the bandages, but Jason stopped her as he pulled off his helmet,

"I'm already patched up, Doll," Jason said, "Alfred patched me up."

"Alfred?", Sapph asked, "I'm guessing you stopped by the bat-cave?"

Jason nodded, but didn't elaborate.

Sapph sighed, "Did you get into a fight with Bruce?"

He nodded again, "And mother-fricking Dick Grayson."

Sapph sighed and sat on the floor next to Jason, "Did the fight have to do with you letting loose a real bullet on a thug because you were frustrated and angry?"

Jason sighed and moved his body toward her, "Yeah– wait! How did you know?"

Sapph smirked and tucked a strand of brown hair behind her ear, "Alfred isn't the only one with super perceptive skills. Also, I know you."

Jason wrapped his arms around Sapph's waist and put his head on her lap, "And you like me anyway?"

"No," Sapph said and kissed him, "I love you because I know you, Jay."

Jason sighed pleasantly moved so that they were laying side-by-side, facing each other.

He put his head to her chest and wrapped his arms around her waist tightly.

"I see you've had a rough night," Sapph said as she ran a hand through his black and white locks.

Jason sighed and nodded, "I just… I want you to sing me to sleep, Doll, please?"

Sapph wound her arms around Jason's shoulders and buried her fingers in his hair, "Okay."

Sapph hummed the beginning melody of 'I get to love you' by Ruelle.

Jason sighed and his hold on her became a little tighter.

Sapph rubbed soothing circles into his shoulder as she sung,

"One look at you,
my whole life falls in line.
I prayed for you,
Before I called you mine."

Jason began planting feather kisses on Sapph's neck and collarbone as she sung,

"Surprisingly I know this song," Jason murmured.

Sapph laughed softly and paused to kiss him soflty,

"Oh, I can't belive it's true sometimes.
Oh, I can't believe it's true.
I get to love you~
It's the best thing that I'll ever do.
I get to love you~
It's a promis I'm making to you.
Whatever may come,
Your heart I will choose.
Forever I'm yours,
Forever I do.
I get to love you~
I get to love you~"

Halfway through the chorus, Jason had started humming the melody as Sapph sung.

His eyes were closed and, although they were both on the hard floor, he had started to sway slightly.

Sapph swayed with him as she continued to sang.

She poured everything she was into the song.

As she sung, she realized how relatable the song was in accordance with hers and Jason's relationship.

They both couldn't believe how lucky they were to have ended up in love with each other.

They would both do anything for each other.

They both believed that the best thing they could ever do, or be blessed with, was the opportunity to love each other.

'Wow, Ruelle,' Sapph thought, 'You're a genius.'

As the song came to an end, the swaying had slowed and Jason's hold on you loosened somewhat.

His breathing was even.

"I get to love you~
I get to love you~
I get to love you~"

It was silent in the apartment as Jason went to sleep.

Sapph waited in silence for at least 10 minutes, "Okay, Jay. I cannot sleep on this hard floor for the rest of the night/early morning."

Jason grumbled, "Can't you carry me, babe~?"

"No, I can't," Sapph replied dryly, "If I may remind you, you're 6'2 and 225 pounds, while I'm 5'1 and 120 pounds*. I'll be squashed trying!"

Jason chuckled and stood up while holding her, "Okay, tiny. Let's go to bed."

Sapph bristled, "I'm not tiny, Jay, you're just a giant."

As if to emphasize this, Sapph's feet were almost ten inches off the ground as Jason held her.

Jason chuckled at her again, "Okay. Whatever you say…………… tiny~"

Sapph blushed, "I'm not tiny, you brick house!"

"Okay," Jason said as he swung her around slightly, "Well, this brick house needs some sleep. Gonna join me?"

"Obviously, Jay," Sapph replied and kissed him, "I love you."

"Love you too, Doll."
