The summer's day was warm and bright.

The sun was high in the sky and there was a pleasant breeze.

It was a nice day to play in the Wayne Manor garden.

Maybe Damien could invite you over to have fun with him and Titus in the garden?

Yes, that is what he shall do.

"Titus, fetch!", Damien ordered as he threw the frisbee really far away.

As expected, the Great Dane excitedly chased after the frisbee.

In a matter of seconds, Titus returned to Damien with the frisbee in his mouth.

Damien looked at you with a very pleased expression on his face, "Do you see how efficient Titus is? None of your cats could hope to be like him, Samson."

You momentarily stopped petting Alfred Pennyworth (Damien's cat) and Alastor (your cat) to give Damien a flat stare, "Obviously. No cat wastes their time on stupid things like catching a frisbee."

Damien scoffed, "-tt- There is nothing stupid about dogs! Cats on the other hand, think of nothing else but themselves and their next meal."

"Sort of like someone else I know," You muttered.

"Excuse me?", Damien snapped.

"Nothing," You said sweetly, "Anyway, can we stop this discussion?"

"Why?", Damien replied smugly, "Is it because you know I'm right?"

You rolled your eyes, "No, it's because this argument is stupid."

"-tt- You know I'm right!", Damien insisted, "Dogs are better than cats. They're loyal, strong and are considered to be man's best friend. Cats could not care less about you."

"That's not true!", You snapped and stood up quickly, "Believe it or not, cats have a deep love for their owners. Also, last time I checked, a lot of dogs are afraid of cats."

Damien bristled, "Not true! Besides, cats are afraid of cucumbers. Doesn't get more pathetic than that."

"Oh, so drinking from a toilet is better?", You replied.

"Titus does not do that!", Damien snapped, "Anymore…"

You huffed, "Well anyway, I'm hungry so I'll ask Alfred if he can give us something to eat. You can come if you want."

But Damien had already turned away from you and had thrown the frisbee much farther than before.

Okay, so he was still moody.

You sighed and headed inside.

You found Alfred in the kitchen already making lunch for you and Damien.

"HI, Alfred," You greeted, "Is that for Damien and I?"

"Oh, hello Miss Bria," Alfred replied, "And yes, this is indeed for Master Damien and yourself."

Alfred held a tray with a mix of tuna and veggie sandwiches, scones and jam, and some orange juice.

It looked scrumptious, even if it was a simple lunch.

You loved cooking, but in Wayne Manor, the only time you got to cook was when helping Alfred with dinner preparations.

Which was okay with you.

As you both headed toward the garden, you heard Damien calling for the both of you.

He sounded distressed.

As you ran to the garden, Damien met you halfway.

"Bria!", Damien practically shouted, "Come quick! Titus is hurt!"

"Oh dear," Alfred said, "I shall bring the canine first aid kit. Wait in the garden children."

"Yes, Alfred," You said and followed Damien to Titus.

Titus didn't look too bad.

His front left paw was the problem.

It was bent in an odd way.

He must have fallen and landed on it badly.

Alfred Pennyworth, the cat, and Alastor layed near him, as if to offer their support.

"Damien, what happened to Titus?", You asked as you cradled Titus' head in you lap.

"I threw the frisbee too high," Damien replied, "Titus caught it but then he fell. Badly."

Damien had a look of absolute guilt on his face.

Now, you had been friends with him for quite some time.

You knew almost as well as you knew yourself.

You knew that he felt regretful, you knew that he blamed himself, you knew that he would still be blaming himself for a few days.

"Dami," You said softly, "Titus is going to be okay. I know it."

You hesitantly reached for his hand, and when he didn't pull away, you intertwined your fingers and gave them a light squeeze.

He gave you a small smile and in return you smiled back at him brightly.

"Master Damien," Alfred said from behinfld the both of you, "I have the kit. Now can both of you help me patch up Titus."

You both nodded and hit to work.

Forty minutes later, Titus was laying on the grass beside Damien and cats lied next to you.

You were both eating the lunch Alfred had prepared for you.

You didn't speak.

The silence was comfortable.

Suddenly, Damien said, "I still think dogs are better than cats."

You sighed and rolled your eyes playfully, "Really Dami? This again?"

"Yes," Damien, "But, my dog is the best dog of course."

"Alright," You said, "Titus is pretty great."

Suddenly, your phone rang.

A message from your mom.

"I should be heading home," You said, "But before I go…"

You leaned toward Damien and gave him a kiss on the cheek.

Damien's face turned completely scarlet.

He tried to speak, but all that came out was some gibberish.

You smirked and whispered, "I'll give you another one if you let me win this argument once and for all."

Damien nodded eagerly and in response, you kissed him on the other cheek.

"See you tomorrow, Dami~" You said as you headed inside to get to the front entrance.

From the kitchen window which displayed the garden, Alfred watched the young ones with a smile on his face, "Finally."
