One week later

"Ed?"
Edmund sighed slightly as his eyes squeezed tightly shut. After hearing Peter climb out of his bed, he'd tried pretending to still be asleep, but Peter obviously wasn't fooled.
"Ed, I know you're awake." He heard his older brother say.
Edmund sighed and opened his eyes. "What?" He grumbled.
"You have to get up." Peter told him, walking across the room and grabbing his school uniform that hung up on the wardrobe door. "Get ready for school."
Edmund groaned as he sat up. "Do I have to?" He sighed.
"Yes Ed." Peter muttered. "Come on, we have to leave in just over an hour."
Edmund sighed a little but got out of bed anyway, walking across the room and grabbing his uniform too. He stared at it for a long while before he heard Peter walk up behind him. "Boarding school really isn't that bad you know." He said gently.
Edmund sighed again. "Aren't you one of the popular ones though?" He said.
"What do you mean?" Peter asked, turning Edmund around to face him. "And anyway, it's a new school for me too."
Edmund sighed a little. "You're not one of the people that get bullied." He muttered.
Peter frowned. "You think you'll get bullied?" He said slowly.
Edmund sighed. "You never know." He said with a small shrug.
"Look Ed." Peter said firmly but still softly. "If anyone is even the slightest bit mean to you I will sort it, okay?"
Edmund stared at him for a little while before nodding. "Thanks." He mumbled.
Peter smiled a little before taking a deep breath. "Right, get changed and then we'll go get some breakfast, Mum and the girls should be up by now too." He added quietly as he headed off to the bathroom.

Edmund sighed a little as he headed downstairs with Peter, joining his Mum and sisters in the kitchen, Susan and Lucy also in their school uniforms.
"When can I go to boarding school?" Lucy was asking as she munched on her toast.
"When you're ten." Susan replied.
Peter chuckled as he sat beside his sister at the table. "Wanna go do you?" He laughed.
"Yeah." Lucy said with a nod. "Even more now because I'm gonna be left alone for a whole term!" She exclaimed.
"It'll fly by." Susan reassured her. "Trust me."
Edmund smiled in amusement as he sat at the table, grabbing some toast as his mum turned to them all. "You're gonna have to hurry I'm afriad." She said quickly. "We have to leave for the train station in fifteen minutes."
"Okay." Edmund said with a small nod, eating only a little bit quicker.
Once they'd finished with breakfast their Mum told them to go get ready to leave whilst she tidied up.
Edmund sighed as he grabbed his shoes, sitting at the bottom of the staircase to put them on.
Once the four were ready Peter grabbed their suitcases and handed them around, calling to his Mum that they were ready.
She came hurrying out of the kitchen two seconds later and grabbed her coat. "We'll drop Lucy off quickly and then we'll head to the station." She said.
Peter nodded. "Okay." He said.
"Boys, your stop is the one after Susan's okay?" Helen said as they headed out the door.
"Got it." Peter said, closing it behind them.
"Come on then." His Mum said as they headed down the road.
They walked for maybe five minutes before arriving at Lucy's school, where once there she flung her arms around Peter's waist. "Bye." She said.
Peter hugged her back. "Goodbye Lucy." He mumbled. "We'll see you at Easter alright?"
"Okay." Lucy said, nodding as she pulled away, only to move to give Susan a hug.
"We'll see you soon alright Lu?" Susan said, kissing the top of her head.
"Yeah." Lucy breathed, pulling away and hugging Edmund. "I'll miss you." She whispered.
Edmund sighed as he wrapped his arms around his little sister. "I'll miss you too Lucy." He replied.
"Right come on, we'll miss the train." Their Mum said quickly. "I'll come and pick you up later." She added, turning to Lucy.
Lucy nodded. "Okay." She said, before she was gone.
"Right, quickly."
Within the next ten minutes they arrived at the train station, already packed with children waiting to go to school.
"Still got your suitcases?" Helen said.
Edmund only nodded, staring around at everyone, rather nervously.
"Okay, well, see you next term then." Their Mum said.
After hugging all three children she left the station, leaving them to boared the train when it arrived.
"I'd say let's go and sit down for a minute but all the benches are taken." Peter said, sighing a little.
"It's alright." Susan said. "The train should he here any minute."
Edmund was about to open his mouth when there was a shout of his older brothers name from across the platform.
Peter looked up and laughed when he saw two boys heading over. "I don't believe it." He muttered. "Wait here a moment." He told his siblings before running off to meet the two boys.
"Two of his friends I expect." Susa shrugged. "Perhaps they're moving schools too?"
Edmund nodded slowly and looked around for his friends, maybe they were going to the same school? But he had no luck and instead just turned to watch Peter.
He watched as him and the two boys talked together, before Peter came hurrying back.
"Who were they?" Edmund asked, staring up at him.
Peter smiled. "A couple friends from my old school." He said. "Turns out their parents thought a new school would do them good too."
Edmund sighed. If he was honest, he had never been really good at making friends, and with a new school it was gonna be twice as hard, and then to find out that Peter already had friends going to the same school made him rather - upset? If that was the right word for it.
"Train's here." Susan said after a moment or two of silence.
"Ed stay with me." Peter said. "We'll get separated if we're not careful."
Edmund nealy objected when Peter grabbed hold of his hand, but when he saw everyone trying to get onto the train, he was really rather glad.
As told he stayed close to his brother and sister until they were safely on the train and in a free (at the moment) compartment.
