Edmund sighed slightly as he headed down for breakfast the next day, trying his very hardest to remember the way without getting lost. He made it eventually and scanned the room of boys to find his brother, who was sat at a table with his two friends and three other boys.
After staring at his brother for a while Edmund sighed and, after getting some food, sat down at an empty table in the corner.
He sat eating by himself for atleast ten minutes, before someone sat beside him. Looking up he saw Peter, a small smile on his face. "You alright?" He asked.
Edmund shrugged. "Yeah." He said with a small nod.
"Sleep well?" His brother questioned.
Edmund sighed. "Not as well as I would've liked." He admitted. "You?"
Peter shrugged. "The whole dorm stayed up talking until maybe midnight." He said with a chuckle.
Edmund scowled. "So did mine." He muttered.
"You didn't join them I take?" Peter sighed.
"Nope." Edmund said with a mocking smile. "They didn't pay any attention to me."
"Well, why dont you try talking to them a little?" Peter suggested with a small shrug.
Edmund raised an eyebrow. "Yeah, I'm good thanks." He said. "They've made it perfectly clear that they don't want to be friends."
Peter sighed a little but decided to change the subject anyway. "What's your first lesson?" He asked.
Edmund thought for a moment. "History I think." He mumbled.
"Not too bad then?" Peter said slowly.
Edmund shrugged. "I suppose it's not." He said. "Then I've got maths." He added.
"Oh." Peter chuckled.
"Yeah oh." Edmund mumbled.
"You wanna meet at lunch?" Peter asked.
Edmund nodded. "Sure." He agreed.
"Peter!"
Edmund looked up at the call of his older brothers name, sighing when he saw it was one of the boys on the table Peter was sat at. "I think your friends want you." He mumbled, looking down at his food.
Peter sighed. "I could stay here if you want?" He said.
Edmund hesitated for a split second before shaking his head. "No, you can go." He sighed.
Peter bit his lip. "Alright." He mumbled. "See you at lunch?"
Edmund nodded. "See you at lunch." He copied, watching as Peter stood and walked back over to the table, one of the boys clapping him on the shoulder with a laugh.
Edmund couldn't help but scowl at this, why was Peter always the one that made friends? Even Susan made friends relatively quickly, and of course Lucy... who wouldn't want to be friends with his little sister?
After another couple of minutes he stood from the table, heading to leave the room, paying no attention to when Peter called his name.
But if he'd looked back as he left the room, he would've seen the rather upset look on Peter's face, as well as the look of sympathy.
Edmund sighed slightly as he headed down the corridors, managing this time to get up to his dorm without getting lost and with no trouble at all, maybe Peter was right when he said that he'd memorize the way eventually?
Walking over to his bed he grabbed his bag, which was hanging on the end, already filled with books and whatnot.
He looked up when the door opened, to see another boy walk in. Edmund stared at him for a while, and was rather shocked when the boy gave him a small smile before walking over to his own bed and grabbing his bag.
Edmund sighed a little and walked across the room, opening the door and leaving, heading for his first lesson.
He knew which classroom it was, it was just trying to find the room that would definitely be a problem.
To his surprise he soon bumped into Peter, walking towards him with his own bag flung over his shoulder.
"You alright Ed?" He asked with a small smile.
Edmund shrugged. "Hoping not to get lost." He muttered with an attempted smile.
Peter chuckled. "Same here." He said.
"Where are your friends?" Edmund asked, trying to hide the jealously in his voice.
Peter stared at him for a moment. "They said they'd catch me up." He said. "Told me where to go though so I didn't get lost."
Edmund sighed. "Right." He mumbled. "Anyway, I should get to lessons."
Peter nodded and opened his mouth to speak but stopped when he noticed the same group that had - teased? - Edmund last night.
He gave them a glare as they walked past, causing Edmund to sigh slightly, always the overprotective brother.
He couldn't help but notice though how the group's 'leader' glared at him as he walked past, causing Edmund to look down at the floor.
"Alright." Peter said when they'd disappeared around a corner. "See you at lunch."
Edmund nodded. "Bye." He muttered, walking around his brother and heading off down the corridor.
He walked around for longer than he would've hoped, glancing into every room but with no luck.
He was just about to give up completely when he managed to somehow find the right classroom with maybe three minutes to spare.
He let out a sigh of relief, atleast he wouldn't get into trouble for being late on his first day.
After a little while of hesitation he slowly walked into the classroom, which was already full of boys, talking and laughing amongst themselves, the teacher wasn't there yet but Edmund took that as a good sign.
After standing there for a while he hesitantly sat at a desk right at the back, not paying attention to anyone else in the classroom, but that was alright seeming as they weren't paying any attention to him.
He sat in silence until who he presumed was the teacher walked into the room, causing everyone to fall silent and take their seats.
As the teacher began talking Edmund sighed, he could already tell that this was gonna be a long day.☆♡☆♡☆♡☆♡☆♡☆♡☆♡☆♡☆
