With a sad sigh Peter carefully lay Edmund down in the bed, taking a deep breath when he stirred slightly.
But he settled back down almost immediately, rolling onto his side and burying his face in the pillows, a small sigh escaping him as he did.
Peter stared at him for a little while before glancing around the room, and while he couldn't see much because of how dark it was, he could still make out a desk in one corner, a bookshelf in the other, a wardrobe and a door. He decided not to figure out where the door led right that minute, and instead kicked off his boots and climbed into bed beside Edmund, wrapping the blanket tightly around them both.
After a little hesitation, Peter wrapped his arms around Edmund's waist and pulled him back until his back touched his chest, and rested his chin on his younger brothers shoulder.
He was glad that Edmund didn't wake, and only tilted his head back to rest against Peter's neck.
With a small smile on his face, Peter slowly let his eyes close, before he too eventually fell into a deep sleep.

"Peter?"
Peter spun around from where he'd been standing in the middle of his (and Edmund's it seemed) room, his eyes wide. "There you are!" He exclaimed. "I've been looking everywhere for you!"
Edmund smiled a little. "Sorry." He said quietly. "I was with Susan, she just got her dress for the - the coronation, and so did Lucy. They wanted me to have a look."
Peter stared at him before nodding. "Well next time tell me." He muttered. "I've been worried sick."
Edmund sighed sadly. "Nothing's gonna happen to me Pete." He mumbled. "Everyone keeps saying I'm perfectly safe."
Peter frowned a little. "And you don't think that?" He asked, confused on why he hadn't said he knew he was safe.
Edmund sighed. "As Susan says, I'm still rather jumpy." He said, quoting his sister exactly. "It's just hard to come to terms with the fact that no ones gonna hurt me anymore."
Peter's face fell. "Oh Ed." He murmered, sighing sadly.
"It's fine." Edmund said quickly, before Peter had to chance to even attempt to hug him. "I came to find you because Susan and Lucy wanted you."
Peter swallowed hard, hating the way Edmund had changed the subject, but if he didn't want to talk about it, then he wouldn't force him. "Where are they?" He asked.
"Susan's room." Edmund replied.
"You're coming with me?" Peter said as he walked towards the door.
Edmund hesitated.
"Please Ed?" Peter choked, and after hearing the worry in his brothers voice, Edmund took a deep breath and nodded. "Course I'll come." He breathed, forcing a smile.
In all honesty all he wanted to do was sit down and rest for the evening, because what with the coronation tomorrow, he knew it was gonna be a long, tiring day. But he also knew that Peter hated having him out of his sight, so for his older brothers sake, he went with him to see Susan and Lucy again.
The rest of the evening past rather peaceful for the four children, and before they knew it, Peter announced that they should probably get some sleep.
"I'm not tired though." Lucy said, looking rather upset, but she was unfortunately unable to hide a yawn.
Peter chuckled at this and stood from where he'd been sat in the armchair, walking over and grabbing his sister, picking her right up into his arms. "Atleast come and lay down with me?" He suggested, placing a kiss to the side of her head.
Lucy sighed and rested her head against Peter's shoulder. "Okay." She mumbled.
Peter smiled and nodded before looking down at Susan and Edmund, who were sat beside each other on the sofa. "Do not leave him alone." He told Susan firmly.
Edmund rolled his eyes dramatically but didn't say anything, instead just staring at Susan as she smirked slightly and nodded up at Peter. "I won't, don't worry." She said.
Peter nodded back before hesitantly leaving the room with an already half asleep Lucy.
"When do you reckon he's gonna let me go off alone?" Edmund questioned, a hint of amusement in his voice.
Susan chuckled. "Probably not for a long time yet." She breathed.
Edmund nodded slowly, before sighing.
Susan heard this and placed a hand on his shoulder. "He's scared Edmund." She mumbled. "Nearly losing you at Beruna has probably scared him more than he's letting on to anyone."
Edmund stared at her for a little while before nodding. "I know." He whispered, before trying his hardest to hide a yawn... but Susan wasn't stupid.
"Come on." She said gently, standing and pulling Edmund to his feet. "I'll walk you to your room, and wait with you until Peter comes."
Edmund nodded hesitantly, and followed quietly behind his sister as they walked up to Peter's room, which had also been his room for the last few nights.
They'd just walked in and shut the door when Peter appeared, and Susan couldn't help but see the way the slight worried frown on his face disappeared when he spotted Edmund.
"Lucy asleep?" Susan asked.
Peter tore his gaze from his brother and chuckled a little. "Yeah." He murmered.
Susan smiled. "I'll probably go and check on her before going to bed myself." She announced. "We - We've got a long day tomorrow."
Both Peter and Edmund noticed the hesitant tone to her voice, but both said goodnight without a word about it, before Susan slowly left the room.
"Come on." Peter said almost the second the door was closed. "Into bed, you look exhausted."
Edmund nodded and wasted no time in getting changed and into bed, wrapping the blanket tightly around him with a sigh.
"See you in the morning." Peter murmered, sitting on the edge of the bed and placing a hand on the top of Edmund's head, running his fingers through his hair.
"Night." Edmund whispered, his eyes already drooping. "Love you."
Peter smiled gently. "I love you too."

"We should probably start getting ready." Peter mumbled as Edmund slowly climbed out of bed, rubbing at his eyes and yawning.
"Already?" Edmund asked, frowning.
Peter shrugged. "You slept late." He explained. "Aslan said he wants us down in the throne room in an hour."
Edmund nodded slowly, but Peter frowned slightly at the look on his face. "Ed?" He asked hesitantly. "You okay?"
Edmund stared at him before sighing and nodding. "Course." He mumbled, standing and running a hand through his tangled hair.
Peter sighed and walked across the room to stand in front of him. "Talk to me." He said gently, sitting Edmund back down and taking a seat beside him.
Edmund swallowed hard. "It's nothing really." He practically whispered.
Peter bit his lip. "Ed." He mumbled.
Edmund swallowed hard, before finaly sighing. "I don't know if I can do this." He choked, shaking his head a little.
Peter knew exactly what he was talking about the second he'd said it, and sighed sadly. "To be honest, neither do I." He admitted. "But - but Lucy said if Aslan thinks we can do it, then we can."
Edmund hesitated a little before taking a deep breath. "But - How?" He choked. "How after everything I've done, can Aslan crown me King? I betrayed Narnia Peter, I betrayed my family, and Aslan wants to make me a King?"
Peter swallowed hard. "Ed, everyone's forgiven you for that." He murmered, reaching up and placing a hand on Edmund's shoulder.
Edmund looked down, not saying anything.
"Even me."
This caught Edmund's attention though, his head snapped up and his eyes went wide. "You - You have?" He choked.
Peter gave him a gentle smile and a nod. "Yes, I've forgiven you." He breathed.
"But - How? Why?"
Peter sighed. "You're my brother Ed, that's why." He said. "As for how, just seeing how sorry you are, how much you regret what you've done was enough, for goodness sake you faced the witch to make up for what you'd done. I can see how much you've changed now, and I really do forgive you, I only wish I'd been able to sooner."
Edmund had tears in his eyes after this, and didn't hesitate as he wrapped his arms around Peter's neck and hugged him as tightly as he could. "Thank you." He choked, sniffing and trying to force back his tears.
Peter smiled and hugged him back. "You're welcome." He mumbled. "And Ed, everyone else has forgiven you too."
"Not everyone." Edmund sighed as he pulled away.
"Most of them then." Peter corrected. "But the most important thing is that Aslan wants you to be King, he trust you and has forgiven you. His and your families forgiveness is all you'll ever really need, and you have that, I promise."
Edmund smiled a little at him, nodding his head slowly. "Thank you." He whispered. "For everything."
Peter's eyes filled with tears, and he couldn't help but pull Edmund in for another hug, placing a quick kiss to the top of his head. "I'm so glad you're alright Eddy." He choked.
Edmund smiled, deciding not to mention the 'Eddy' and just wrapped his arms tightly around his older brother. "Me too." He murmered. "And I'm glad you're alright too."
Peter took a deep breath. "It wasn't your fault Ed." He sighed.
Edmund swallowed hard  burying his face against Peter's shoulder. "Yes it was and you know it." He whispered.
"You were hurting Ed." Peter said gently, reaching up and placing one hand on the back of Edmund's head. "It's not entirely your fault. She tricked you. Please don't be so hard on yourself."
Edmund swallowed hard. "But I sold you all out for sweets." He choked.
Peter frowned. "Sweets?" He questioned.
Edmund hesitated a little before answering. "She gave me Turkish Delight the first time we met." He sighed. "She said if I brought you to her, I could have as much of it as I wanted and be King."
Peter swallowed hard. "As I said, she tricked you." He murmered. "It wasn't all your fault-"
"But-"
"Ed please." Peter murmured into his brothers ear. "I know you still blame yourself, but everyone forgiven you, and right now you really need to see that, because we have to get ready."
Edmund managed to chuckle slightly before nodding. "Alright." He breathed. "Let's get ready."
Peter nodded. "Love you."
Edmund smiled. "Love you too."
