"What do you say we go and find the girls?" Peter suggested after a few minutes of silence.
Edmund nodded slowly. "Yeah." He breathed, hesitantly pulling from Peter's arms and attempting to stand.
Peter kept a hand firmly on his shoulder as he stood too, keeping him from falling, which he was actually quite worried he would do. "You alright?" He asked.
Edmund swallowed hard, shaking away the dizziness and nodding his head. "I think so, yeah." He breathed.
Peter smiled, his hand falling to land on Edmund's back, and he was relieved when Edmund didn't even flinch. "The cordial's healed your back." He murmered.
Edmund nodded. "I didn't think it was causing me any pain." He said, sounding as relieved as Peter felt.
Peter smiled down at him. "Right, come on." He said, going to leave the tent.
Edmund swallowed hard and followed after him, walking as close to him as was actually possible, causing Peter to sigh sadly and grab his brothers hand, squeezing it tightly and giving him a gentle smile.
Edmund smiled back up at him as the two ducked out of the tent, both shielding their eyes from the setting sun and immediately spotted Susan and Lucy.
They were sat a little way away, leaning against a log around what looked like the start of a bonfire.
Lucy was leaning against her older sister, her head resting against her shoulder, with Susan's arm around her waist, hugging her tightly.
Both of them looked rather deep in thought, and Edmund was worried to see tears in Susan's eyes which she was obviously trying her hardest to hold back.
Hearing Peter sigh, Edmund glanced up at him and did the same, before slipping his hand from his brothers and heading over to Susan and Lucy.
"Edmund." Lucy beamed the second she saw him, pulling from Susan's arms and standing, hugging Edmund actually rather gently.
Edmund smiled and hugged her back, glancing at Susan. "You alright?" He mouthed, concern spread across his face.
Susan chuckled silently and sniffed, nodding her head as she stood and joined in the hug, being just as careful as Lucy.
"I'm not gonna break." Edmund murmered with a soft smile, feeling what he knew was Peter's hand land on his back.
Lucy giggled, tightening her grip a little, which actually did cause Edmund a little pain, but it was easily ignored, and he did so for Lucy's sake.
The three pulled apart a minute later, and Lucy immediately grabbed Edmund's hand, resting her head against his arm with a sigh.
"We were waiting for you two." Susan said with a smile. "Dinner's gonna be ready soon."
"Good." Peter grinned. "I'm starving."
"I bet you are." Susan said. "Both of you probably are?"
The last part was more of a question directed at Edmund, and Edmund found himself hesitating.
"Ed?" Peter asked slowly, moving his hand up to rest of his brothers shoulder.
Edmund sighed. "I'm not actually that hungry." He mumbled.
Lucy frowned. "Surely you must be." She said. "You haven't eaten since - since probably breakfast."
"She's right Ed." Peter explained. "The battle went on until after lunch, and you've been sleeping ever since then."
Edmund swallowed hard. "I just dont feel well." He told Peter. "I said that, and I really don't feel like eating right now."
Peter sighed sadly, nodding his head. "Alright." He mumbled. "But I want you to eat something at some point tonight okay?"
Edmund smirked. "Yes dad." He muttered.
Peter smiled down at him and ruffled his hair, causing Edmund to duck away and groan playfully. "I hate it when you do that!" He exclaimed.
"I know." Peter answered with a laugh.
"Aslan."
The all looked up when Lucy said this, seeing Aslan stop in front of them.
Lucy hesitantly let go of Edmund's hand and walked over to give him a hug, which got a chuckle from the lion and a smile from each of her siblings.
Although Peter and Edmund did look rather shocked, and Aslan saw.
"Peter." He said slowly. "May I have a word?"
Peter stared at him for a second or two before hesitantly nodding his head, letting his hand fall from Edmund's shoulder before following after Aslan.
They stopped a fair distance away from where Susan, Edmund and Lucy had sat down around the now lit bonfire, before Aslan began talking.
"You're probably wondering how I'm alive?" He said, something of a smile on his face.
"You could say that." Peter said, letting out an awkward laugh.
Aslan smiled at him for a second before taking a deep breath. "The witch didn't know that true meaning of sacrifice Peter." He said slowly. "But when a willing victim, who has committed no treachery, is killed in a traitor's stead, the stone table will crack, and even death itself would turn backwards."
Peter thought about this for a moment, before his eyes went wide. "You-" He stopped and swallowed hard. "You died - died for Edmund?"
Aslan nodded.
Peter took a deep breath, tears stinging his eyes as he ran a hand through his hair. "I-" He choked, but he didn't know what to say.
"Just understand that you shouldn't tell him." Aslan told him. "He's not ready to be told, it would be too much for him."
Peter nodded in agreement. "It would." He murmered, before: "Thank you." He choked out. "Thank you so much."
Aslan smiled and nodded his head. "You're welcome Peter." He said. "Now, go back and join your siblings."
Peter nodded and after giving Aslan a quick smile, he turned back around and returned to his siblings.
Edmund looked up when Peter stopped beside him, and immediately slipped his hand into his, resting his head against his shoulder.
Peter smiled sadly and wrapped his arm around Edmund's waist, keeping a firm grip of his hand as he placed a kiss to the top of his head. "You alright?" He asked gently.
Edmund glanced up at him for a moment before shrugging. "Not sure." He mumbled.
Peter frowned, and looked up when Susan spoke. "You're looking rather pale." She mumbled, sounding slightly worried.
Peter stared down at Edmund and nodded his head. "She's right." He sighed.
Edmund swallowed hard. "I feel sick." He choked, burying his face against Peter's shoulder.
Peter sighed and glanced at his sisters, who both looked as worried as he did. "Do you feel like-"
But he never got to finish his sentence, for Edmund quickly pulled from his grip and dashed off into the woods, falling down behind a bush out of sight of his siblings.
"- You're gonna be sick." Peter finished with a sigh before rushing off after his brother.
He found him slowly sitting up and rubbing his mouth, tears rolling slowly down his cheeks.
Peter sighed and knelt beside him, wrapping an arm around his shoulder and using his other hand to run through his brothers hair, whispering reassuringly under his breath. "Alright?" He murmered.
Edmund took a deep breath, sniffing loudly before nodding. "I guess." He choked. "Sorry."
"You don't need to apologise Ed." Peter sighed. "Its an understandable reaction."
"Hmm." Edmund replied.
"I take it you definitely don't feel like eating anything now?" Peter said, something of a smile on his face.
Edmund chuckled slightly. "I'll try something." He told him, nodding a little.
"If you're sure." Peter said gently, before standing and pulling Edmund to his feet.
"Yeah I'm sure." Edmund breathed. "I've recently discovered how you feel if you don't eat."
Peter sighed. "Did she give you anything?" He choked.
Edmund hesitantly shook his head. "She gave me some water when I eventually couldn't walk any further." He said slowly. "But other than that, nothing."
Peter swallowed hard before sighing. "Alright." He mumbled. "Come on."
And with that he led Edmund back to Susan and Lucy.
"Are you alright?" Susan asked, sounding worried.
Edmund stared at her for a little while before nodding his head. "I'm fine." He breathed.
Susan frowned worridly at him but slowly nodded her head, placing a comforting hand on Lucy's shoulder. "Well then." She said after a moment. "I suppose we should have something to eat."
"Sounds like a good idea." Peter agreed.
"Why don't you go and sit down with Peter, Ed." Susan said slowly. "Me and Lucy will go and get us all something?"
Edmund stared at her for a couple seconds before eventually nodding his head. "Okay." He murmered, slipping from Peter's grip and walking over to sit against a nearby log.
Peter quickly followed him, sitting as close to him as he could and resting his hand on Edmund's shoulder.
Edmund smiled at him before chuckling. "Why do I have the feeling you're gonna stick to me like glue for the next few weeks?" He questioned.
Peter smirked. "Because I am?" He said with a shrug.
"Thought as much." Edmund said with a small shake of his head.
Peter smiled at him, but frowned worridly when he all of a sudden flinched. "Ed, you okay?" He asked quickly.
Edmund hesitantly nodded. "It just, sorta still hurts a little." He sighed.
Peter stared at him. "If it gets any worse let me know alright?" He said firmly, tightening his grip on Edmund's shoulder.
Edmund nodded. "I will." He murmered. "Don't worry."
Peter nodded back. "Ah, here come Susan and Lucy." He breathed, nodding towards their sisters who were on their way over with some food.

The evening passed slowly but peacefully for the Pevensies, and they all enjoyed the celebrations, but after a while Peter could see that Edmund was trying his hardest not to fall asleep.
Sighing gently he walked over to where his brother was sat on the log, kneeling down in front of him and catching his attention. "Why don't we head to bed?" He suggested.
Edmund didn't hesitate as he nodded, and immediately stood up, wincing when he did.
"Is it worse?" Peter couldn't help but ask as they made their way back towards their tent.
"Not really." Edmund sighed. "But it's still sore."
"You just need to rest." Peter told him. "And that's definitely what you'll be doing."
Edmund smiled as he ducked into the tent, instantly kicking off his boots and laying down on his hammock. "Definitely." He muttered, reaching for his blanket.
He was about to drift off to sleep when Peter walked over. "Budge up." He said quietly.
Edmund blinked at him but did as he had said, and couldn't help but smile a little when Peter climbed into the hammock beside him.
Edmund immediately rested his head against his chest, and felt Peter's arm wrap around his shoulders.
"Night Ed." Peter breathed, already sounding extremely tired.
Edmund smiled. "Goodnight Peter."
