Chapter 28: Meeting The Family

ARYN: I'm so worried. when i heard what happened last night i ran back to my house and got my car speeding all the way down to where those stupid drunk girls said she was. i found her there passed out, pale and bleeding out on the ground. i ran her in my now completely blood stained car and drove her straight to the E.R. they took her into surgery right after the C.T., something about her spine and brain stem being damaged. i'm sitting in her room right now waiting for her to get out of surgery. it's been 9 hours since she first went in, i'm the only one here at the moment because Hannahs family wasnt picking up the phone. i called them first at 4:00 AM something and then again a few hours ago. i should probably call them again in a few minutes. i'll do that when i see her out of surgery. speak of the devil... the doctors walked in wheeling Hannah into the room. they had frowns on their faces, big fat frowns. i furrowed my eyebrows at them as i felt a tear slide down my cheek. did something go wrong with the surgery? why in the hell are they frowning!? "she's okay. she needs some rest and she probably won't wake up for a few days because of the brain injury. she has a few broken ribs, her shoulder is shattered, her right wrist is twisted, her left leg is also really shattered and she has a large cut, we stitches her up and put on all her casts. i suggest she doesn't walk on the leg for at least 3 or 4 months. she also cut through some nerves in her leg causing severe nerve damage. she may not be able to walk for a long time but we'll provide physical therapy to get her back on her feet when her bone heals. as for her brain and spine we fixed up her spine and her brain stem is damaged so it will be pretty hard for her to move her neck but it should be okay in a while." the doctor said. i hugged her as soon as the words "she's okay" came out of her mouth. she transferred Hannah over to her other bed in the room and the nurse came in and did some exams. "so what's going to happen when she wakes up?" i asked, i'm so dumb when it comes to this shit. "she will be in a lot of pain but we'll provide medication for that, she'll be in a recovery room on bed rest for a month or so and then if her condition gets better she may be able to go home. but someone has to watch over her 24/7" i smiled at the last part knowing it would be me babysitting her. "okay, and she'll wake up in the next couple of days?" i asked grabbing her hand as the nurse walked away from her. "she should. if she doesn't we may have to do more surgery or more tests" he stated writing something down on his clip board. "does she have any other close family?" he asked, i nodded. "you should get them over here. i'm sure they don't want to be sitting around while one of their family members is hooked up to machines and in critical condition." he deadpanned. "of course, i'm going to call them now." he nodded, "make sure not to give them too much details while they're driving. we don't want anymore accidents" he said with a chuckle. glad to see he has a sense of humour. "will do... can i get on the bed with her?" i asked shyly. "of course, by all means. just try to avoid the IVs and stuff" he said with a smile as he walked out the room. "how did you get into this mess?" i whispered as i got into the bed and snuggled up close to her. i held back my tears and closed my eyes. i know she wouldn't want me to cry right now. i was about to fall asleep before i was so rudely interrupted by some girl shrieking right in my ear. "HANNAH!" she screamed as she ran over to her, someone get this dramatic bitch away from me before i slap her. i looked at the door seeing Rein, Eli and Elise. I ran up to Eli with tears in my eyes, i knew he was still mad but this big ole teddy bear was my best friend. he hugged me back tightly, which came to my surprise. "you aren't mad?" i asked. "how can i be mad at the girl who saved my sisters life? the doctors told me what you did. thank you Aryn." he said as i started to cry silently in his chest. he brought me back to his face and kissed my cheek, "don't cry" he said with a small fake smile. i could tell he was on the verge of tears as well. he sniffled slightly before looking down at the ground. "i'm sorry. for hitting Hannah, and then all this. it's all my fault she was on her way to see me when it happened" i said trying to fight back my tears. "it's okay, all of it wasn't your fault. okay maybe the hitting this but the accident was NOT your fault" he deadpanned. i looked at him with a sweet smile before he engulfed me back in his arms. "these things just sort of happen. it's no ones fault. maybe gods?" he said questioning his last words. i couldn't help but laugh, he's funny. i wiped a tear from his cheek that he probably didn't even realize escaped, "you always were the emotional one" i sung, it's straight facts. Hannah is a robot, and i don't cry THAT much. but like i said before Eli is just a big ole teddy bear. a softy teddy bear. "shut up" he said with a smirk. i was about to pull him in for a hug but someone cleared their throat making me spin around behind me. "this is her?" Elise asked, i gulped as Eli nodded looking at the ground with a smile. she looked really intimidating, she was pretty fit for a mom of 5 not to mention you could see her huge boobs through her jacket. i chuckled nervously as i looked into her tropical green eyes that were in slits glaring into my soul. "you have fun hitting my niece?" she asked as she handed the baby girl she was holding to Eli. "no ma'am i am sorry for that. truly it never should have happened and i promise to never lay hand on your niece again" i said as i swallowed a lump in my throat. "good. just checking, now how good are you with bratty teenagers?" she asked, i sighed in relief did she really just do that to scare me. i'm taking a wild guess and say that Eli told her to be nice when she saw me. i mouthed a thank you to Eli who was staring at the baby in horror as she drooled on his roots hoodie. "god damn it Eli she's not even a year old are you serious right now? scratch the teenager, here's my cranky little princess" Elise snatched the baby out of Elis arms and handed her to me. i nodded my head, i love babysitting and she looked like she needed a break. i handed my iphone to the teenager as she walked over to me. "you can play some music or watch something, my headphones should be in my bag over there on that chair, you can sit there too" i said, she smiled and nodded. i may speak bratty teenage girl. "and what's you name little one?" i cood as i sat with the baby up in the air. "thats my cousin Ebony and that over there is my other cousin Rein" he pointed to both of them. Rein flipped him off when his finger landed on her. i chuckled, something tells me im gonna like this girl. so i know some of you are probably confused about what happened with my dad so let me just shorten the long, long story he told me last night. he got a call from AJ after me and AJ hung up stating that i was gay and in love with a girl, he isn't homophobic because his sister my auntie Chantel was married to a woman. he was fine with the whole gay thing but he put 2 and 2 together and told me he knew that it was Hannah i was crushing on. when i called Hannah last night i was crying because of AJ exposing me and when i told her my dad said she wasn't allowed over it's because he said "if you are attracted to girls the same rules apply for them as they would boys. so no girls in the house please. unless they are staying in the guest room or living room and your room is COMPLETELY off limits" last night during our long ass conversation. just to clear that up in case you think my dad is a homophobic asshole because trust me he's not. my mom doesn't know yet because i told my dad not to tell her so i could at least come out by myself for at least this one time. i was going to tell her tonight when i asked Hannah to be my girlfriend but that plan kinda back fired. i told my dad what happened and he said he's going to send my annoying ass sisters to drop off some clothes and other stuff for me. i told him i wasn't leaving until she woke up which he was fine with as long as i called to check in. my mom came by a little earlier to comfort me because she was the first person i called when Hannah went into surgery. she left a little later saying she had to go check on Aubri and Naomi and make sure they weren't fucking up the house. i love my parents honestly, as annoying as they were they are amazing. i can't help but wonder what everyone is going to think when Hannah comes out, she doesn't seem like the gay type. she has long shoulder length and fluffy hair, bright green eyes with worlds longest eyelashes attached to them, pink plump lips, big boobs, a NICE ass, she always wears girly colours and she is just so girly all the time. i bet no one will see that she's gay. i looked over at Hannah who had so many marks and casts on her, god i feel bad for that poor girl. Ebony coo'd making me turn my attention to her, "hey little one, you wanna see your big cuz?" i coo'd to her turning to Elise for her to give me the okay. she nodded and i slowly walked over to Hannah with Ebony in my arms. i walked over to her cautiously as Ebonys eyes grew wide looking at Hannahs forehead which had a long line of stitches on it. she cried silently surprisingly and then snuggled into my arms before passing out. i giggled a little looking at how peaceful she looked, i never understood how babys could just fall asleep like that. "oh thank the lord!" i heard from behind me, i jerked my head to the side making her move a little. "how did you do that? how is she just alseep? she won't even do that for her own mother! the damn disrespect these days." Elise exclaimed taking Ebony out my arms and into her carseat. "thank you" she said hugging me tightly, i chuckled not knowing what i did. i hugged her back with a "your welcome" as she kissed my cheek. "you don't seem like the abusive type" she raised her eyebrow and framed my face with her hands as i looked at my shoes. "that was a mistake. it wasn't me in that moment, it was like some evil twin took over" i said, she didn't say anything but chuckle and shake her head. "damn what did you do to make the devil LAUGH" Eli asked from behind me earning a glare from Elise. i chuckled at him as he scratched the back of his neck. "what did i tell you about the disrespect boy" Elise scolded him waving the mom finger in his face. "sorry auntie" he mumbled, she walked over to him and smacked him upside the head earning a snicker from everyone in the room except for Hannah and Ebony who were both peacefully in dream land. "disrespectful children" she mumbled walking away and out the door. "i'll be back i'm going to take a shit" she muttered under her breath. "ew mom, lord no one needs to know what your doing just say you're going to the bathroom like a normal person" Rein exclaimed. "shut up and put your head phones back in or i'm making you wait in the car" Elise deadpanned glaring at Rein. Rein quickly shut up and went back to my phone. her family was nice and surprisingly accepting, i already loved everyone here except for the screaming girl who was now sleeping on top of Hannah. who the fuck is that girl anyway? "who's that?" i asked Eli who looked at the girl and shrugged. "her childhood friend or something, her names Kahlani she's kind of annoying to be honest" he deadpanned, way to state the obvious with the last part. i nodded and put my head on Elis shoulder. i'm so tired right now i haven't slept in two days now. i close my eyes and drifted off to dream land as Eli put his arm around my shoulder and laid his head on top of mine. i guess he's tired too because he was snoring within a few minutes of lying there.
