In My Time of Dying (1)

Kylie's POV

Darkness.

It was a friend of mine, it always took me away from my pain and misery. Whenever I was stressed or physically hurt I welcomed darkness as a way of escaping whatever I was going through. However, something I always forgot is when I had to come back to reality, the pain was still there sometimes worse.

"Kylie?"

I closed my eyes shut and whimpered at the pain in my knee.

"Kylie, can you hear me?"

"No." I cried out as I tried to move my leg.

"Kylie, sweetheart?"

"Dean?" I whimpered as I opened my eyes gently, closing when I was blinded by the hospital light.

Hospital?

I opened my eyes again, looking around the empty room confused.

"Dean?" I called again, propping myself up on my elbows to look around the empty room.

"Ky?"

I looked back at the door where Sammy stood, he had a few bruises and his eye was still pretty swollen from the fight before.

"Sammy?" I ran my fingers through my hair, getting it hooked on the I.V. line. "What the hell is going on?"

Sam came to my side, pulling a chair over by my bed. "What all do you remember?"

I closed my eyes, flashes of the yellow eyed demon possessing John filled my head, followed by Dean bleeding in my arms.

I opened my eyes again as they filled up with tears.

"Dean?" I asked and he bit his lip.

"He's unconscious. He's had a lot of head trauma."

I sucked in a harsh breath as my heart seemed to stop.

"But he'll wake up right? I mean he has to wake up."

Sam stood up and wrapped his arms tightly around me, squeezing me in a hug that we both needed.

I buried my head into his shoulder, shedding out a few tears before pulling back and wiping my eyes.

"How are you?" I forced through a shaky breath.

"I'm fine, a few bruises." He nodded

"What about John?" I asked as I went to the pull the I.V. from my arm, but Sam stopped me.

"He's awake, but Kylie you need to take it easy." Sam said sternly.

"The hell I am." I shook my head. "Dean is unconscious and the demon is still out there."

"Kylie," Sam said raising his voice, "you took a lot of damage, your knee is shattered."

I glanced down at my leg that was killing me and saw that it was all bandaged up

"Crap." I sighed.

"They want to run more tests on you, they didn't even think you'd wake up."

I bit my lip and glanced at Sam. "Can we - Can we go see him?" I asked softly.

Sam let out a breath and thought about it before nodding. "Let me get you a chair." He said before quickly getting up and leaving the room.

Once Sam was gone, I let out a cry covering my mouth as the tears began to fall. I hadn't even seen Dean yet and I was already a mess.
