Heart (4)

Kylie's POV

When I was a little girl there were a lot of things that I didn't know how to do. One of those things was knowing how to swim.

I had this irrational fear of going under the water, I didn't like the fact that I didn't know what was underneath me. Years of growing up, hunting monsters and dealing with crazy humans, would do that to you.

When Sam found out I didn't know how to swim at the age of 13, he made it his personal mission to not only make sure I knew how to swim, but to make sure I was confident to do it on my own.

I never told him that I would never be completely confident with it, he was so proud of me and I couldn't break his heart.

Even now as an adult, I wasn't confident in my swimming, or being underwater, so when I woke up feeling like I was being held underwater I began to panic.

"Kylie, Kylie, Kylie!"

I heard Dean's voice but it sounded so far away.

I forced my eyes opened to find that I wasn't being held underwater, but in Kurt's apartment. Dean was in front of me, his brows scrunched together, his lips in a tight line.

"Sweetheart? Can you hear me?" Dean asked gently, moving his hand to brush a curl from my face.

I could hear Dean's words, but I couldn't clearly comprehend them.

I looked around the apartment, Kurt laid dead on the floor, the window across from him was open, letting in the morning breeze, and Madison was gone.

Madison.

She was the one who caused all of this, she was the monster.

"Kylie!" Dean said a little louder with even more concern.

"Yeah, yeah, I'm fine." I tried to push him away so I could stand up, but Dean caught my hand and kept me from moving.

"You're bleeding." He frowned, his fingers tracing the side of my neck. He pulled them back and showed me the red crimson blood that coated the tips of his calloused fingers.

I groaned and moved to touch the back of me head, my hair tangled and matted with blood. Pushing my hair away, I was able to feel a medium sized gash that was in my scalp.

I closed my eyes and shook my head. "I'm fine, we gotta get to Sam."

Dean look torn but nodded. "He's still with Madison." He stood up straight and offered a hand. "You good to walk?"

"Yeah." I ignored his hand and forced myself to my feet, the world around me spinning.

He placed a hand on my shoulder to steady me as I swayed. "We can get you looked at after we get to Sam."

I nodded in agreement, my ears ringing.

"Call Sam." I managed to get out, my stomach churning with every step I took.

It was safe to say that I had a concussion.

Dean wasted not time in dialing Sam, as we walked to his car, his hand on the small of my back.

"Yeah, now that we're conscious." Dean scoffed as he helped me into the passenger seat, making sure I was stable. "The werewolf knocked us out. Sam, it's Madison."

I watched through blurred eyes as he ran in front of the car, getting into the driver's side.

"Well, she wasn't an hour ago. Check her right arm below her elbow. I nicked her with a silver knife." He let out before pulling the phone away from his ear. "Jesus Sam." He grumbled, sliding his phone into his pocket. His green eyes glanced in my direction, I thought for a second that he was going to ask if I was okay again, but I was surprised when something else came out of his mouth.
