Houses of the Holy (4)
Kylie's POV
I stood in the middle of the grocery store, my eyes wandering through the plastic placemats that would have to serve as an alter.
The question was do I choose the SpongeBob one or the Care Bear one?
"Hey." I heard Sam as he came up behind me. "You good?"
I glanced at the youngest Winchester and smiled. "I'm great. Just trying to decide which placemat would appease a spirit."
Sam let out a chuckle and grab the SpongeBob one. "SpongeBob all the way." He teased as he handed it to me. "I uh- I heard you and Dean fighting."
"He needs the truth Sam." I glanced at him. "He needs the truth to smack him in the face."
"Yeah." Sam nodded and rubbed his jaw. "I just didn't expect you to be the one to throw it in his face."
"I didn't throw it in his face." I scoffed. "I told him how it is." I paused and bit my bottom lip. "If this thing is a spirit and not an angel." I glanced up at him. "I'm dead Sammy."
"Do you not think we will help you? We can find something. Bobby is close."
I let out a soft chuckle and shook my head. "Bobby wants me to lock myself up in a motel room, take a little vacation away from the world."
"And that's a bad thing?" He questioned. "I would kill for a vacation."
"How long am I supposed to hide myself away from? A week? A month? A year?" I pressed going down the aisle, putting a couple of more things in the cart. "Plus that means a vacation away from you two. How am I supposed to survive without my boys?" I teased.
"More like how are your boys supposed to survive without you." Sam teased before dropping the smile. "Look I get it, I do. I wouldn't want to be locked away either especially while we're looking for the demon. But this is life or death Kylie. If you think we can't survive without you for a year how do you think we'll do for the rest of our lives?"
I shook my head. "Dean would protect you."
"Who's going to protect Dean?" Sam scoffed. "You know you keep him in line."
"I'm sure some other poor soul can keep him in line." I say despite the pang in my heart.
"Dean, loves you. He's never loved anyone." He pointed out.
I stopped in front of the chocolate, and picked out a bar. "You know he hasn't even said it yet."
"What?" Sam asked confused, his brows scrunching up.
"He hasn't said he loves me yet." I shrug.
Sam paused, a look crossing over his face as he shifted on his feet. "You know how Dean is."
I rolled my eyes. "Yeah, I do Sam. Which is why it's not as surprising to me as it is to you." I shrugged and walked up to the counter, pulling out one of my credit cards.
"Okay, okay." Sam said as he came up to stand next to me. "Is this why your giving up on us saving you because Dean hasn't said the 'L' word yet?"
I scoffed and gave him a dirty look. "Yes Sam, that's exactly why I'm giving up because I'm a dramatic teenager having her first period." I shook my head as he grimaced. "And I'm not giving up, I'm just telling you the truth." I shrug as I grabbed the bags from the cashier. "Let's just hope we're right and Dean's not."
Sam and I walked out to meet Dean on the street. Sam took the paper sack from my arms and smiled. "You know, I'll admit we've gone pretty ghetto with spell work before, but this takes the cake. I mean, a SpongeBob placemat instead of an altar cloth?"
