The Usual Suspects (5)
Kylie's POV
I couldn't stop the blood that poured from my nose, it was honestly an alarming amount. I had went through at least two rags.
I knew Sam was worried, and I knew that Ballard was even more confused with the situation we were in, but we needed to get Dean.
Detective Ballard drove down a familiar stretch of roads, ones that I could remember from my vision, while she talked on her phone.
"All right. Thanks." She finished before hanging up.
I moved the rag away from my nose and leaned forward from the backseat. "What is it?" I asked.
"Pete just left the precinct. With Dean." She glanced back at me. "You were right."
"What?" Sam asked, shaking his head.
"He said the prisoned had to be transferred, and he just took him." She sighed, her hands tightening on the wheel. "Dispatch has been calling but he won't answer his radio."
I shook my head. "Dean thought he was being transferred to St. Louis before your partner pulled off to the side of the road."
"Wait." Sam shook his head. "Radio? He took a county vehicle?"
"Yeah." She nodded.
Sam glanced back at me and smiled with a mischievous grin. "Well, then they should have a lo-jack, you've just gotta get it turned on."
It didn't take long for Sam to get the lo-jack turned on and once he did, it only took mere minutes to find where Sheridan and Dean were.
We got out of the car, running just in time to find Detective Sheridan pointing his gun at Dean.
"Wait! Wait. Let's, let's talk about this." I heard Dean's panicked voice, making my heart drop. "I mean, you don't want to do something that you're gonna regret later."
Sheridan cocked his gun making Dean raise a brow.
"Or maybe you do."
"Pete!" Detective Ballard moved forward, gun in hand. "Put the gun down." She warned lowly.
"Diana?" Sheridan asked, stumbling slightly. "How'd you find me?"
"I know about Claire." She let out bluntly.
My eyes immediately went to Dean who was watching the situation unfold before us.
"I don't know what you're talking about?" Sheridan denied with a loose shrug.
"Put the gun down!" She argued, raising her voice.
"Oh, I don't think so. You're fast. I'm pretty sure I'm faster."
I made a couple of steps towards Dean in attempt to get him out of the way, but Sam caught my elbow, halting my movements.
"Not yet." Sam said lowly.
"What are you doing this?" Detective Ballard asked, her voice shaking as her boyfriend and lover now had a deranged look on his face.
"I didn't do anything Diana." He cried.
"It's a little late for that." She spat at him.
"It wasn't my fault! Claire was trying to turn me in, I had no choice." He shook his head, trying to make it look as if he was the victim in this.
"And Tony? Karen?" Ballard asked, making Sheridan flinch.
"Same thing!" He scoffed. "Tony scrubbed the money, he got skittish, and then he wanted to come clean. I'm sure he told Karen everything."
