Heart (5)

Kylie's POV

Dean, Sam, and I sat in the Impala the next night right outside of Madison's apartment.

After killing Glen, Madison should be normal, but we had to wait it out to be sure. I urged Sam to stay with her, to make sure she didn't need the emotional support, but he refused, not wanting to mess up her life any further.

"It was sort of sad, actually." Dean spoke softly. "Glen had no clue what was going on." He paused in thought before turning in his seat to look at both Sam and I. "Hey, why do you think he turned Madison instead of just killing her in the first place?"

I shrugged. "I don't know. I mean, he kind of seemed to have a thing for her."

Dean nodded. "Maybe his primal instinct did, too. Maybe he was looking for a little, uh, hot breeding action."

I felt my brows scrunch up in disgust. "Dean, don't turn this into a sick porn fantasy."

He gave me a smirk before looking at his brother. "So?"

"So what?" Sam asked, continuing to stare out the window.

"Speaking of Madison . . ." He trailed making me grin.

Sam glanced at his brother confused before rolling his eyes. "Oh, whatever."

Dean chuckled. "Don't 'whatever' me, man, you liked her. Maybe, uh-"

"Dean." Sam interrupted. "She thought I was a stark-raving lunatic."

"You saved her life." I spoked up from the back.

"Yeah, but she doesn't know that." Sam sighed.

There was a knock at the window, all three of us surprised when we saw Madison.

Sam, quickly rolled down his window.

"You know, for a stake-out, your car's a bit conspicuous." She smiled. "What are you still doing here?"

Sam stared at Madison, in shock that she was standing before him and not running in the other direction.

"Honestly?" Dean spoke up. "Uh, we're pretty sure you're not gonna turn tonight, but we've gotta be a hundred percent, so . . . you know , we're . . . lurking."

"I know this sounds crazy." Sam let out nervously.

Madison gave a small smile. "Sure does." She let out a breath. "Well, if we're gonna wait it out . . . we might as well do it together."

Sam looked pleasantly surprised, while Dean and I shared an amused grin.

We slowly followed Madison back into her apartment, our movements hesitant. We just held her at gunpoint just a few moments ago, it would be more than easy to scare the woman off.

"You were telling the truth, weren't you?" She asked. "About everything. What you did - it was to help me."

Sam nodded, playing with his hands nervously. "Yeah."

"I did all of those horrible things . . . when I turned." She shook her head angrily.

Dean and I shared another look, both of silently praying that killing Glen worked in Madison's favor.

"You didn't know." Sam shrugged.

There was a small pause before Madison spoke. "So, when will we know for sure? Moonrise?"

"No, I don't think so. You turned middle of the night last night. I think we've gotta hang in until sun-up." He explained, licking his bottom lip nervously.
