Crossroad Blues (2)

Kylie's POV

I rubbed my temples as we pulled up to Lloyd's bar, Dean pulling his car into the dirt road. Once he came to a stop, he glanced back at me.

"You doing okay back there?" He questioned with concerned.

I nodded. "Yeah, I just got this . . . overwhelming feeling back there." I admitted.

"But no vision?" Sam questioned.

I let out a breath and shook my head. "No," I admitted. "I just got a pain in my head."

"Maybe you're controlling it." Dean suggested with a shrug.

I gave a small hopeful smile and nodded. "Yeah maybe." I let out before slipping out of the Impala.

My headache wasn't from a vision, it felt different. It felt more . . . real and painful like it was my own mind hurting me.

Sam and Dean got out of the car, each shutting their doors in unison.

I reached for Dean's hand for comfort, I didn't know why but I just needed human touch, needed to know that I was still alive.

Dean glanced at me confused but I only shrugged, ready to pull my hand away but his grip tightened before he gave me a wink.

We began walking up to the bar when Dean stopped us. "Hey." He started.

"Yeah?" Sam raised a brow.

Dean licked his bottom lip, drawing it in between his teeth as he looked towards some yellow flowers that were growing by the side of the road.

"That's weird." He noted.

I raised a brow as I looked up at him.

What was the deal about some yellow flowers.

"Think someone planted these?" He asked.

"Middle of all these weeds?" Sam suggested, shoving his hands into his pockets.

"There are, uh, what do you call 'em?" Dean asked, snapping his fingers with his free hand.

"Yarrow flows?" Sam suggested.

I wracked my brain trying to remember where I heard about them, when it hit me.

"Aren't they used for certain rituals?" I asked.

"Yeah, actually. Summoning rituals." Sam nodded.

I rubbed the back of my neck, massaging the tense muscles as Dean spoke.

"Heh. So, two people become sudden successes about ten years ago. Right around the time they were hanging out here at Lloyd's."

I glanced around the area finally seeing what the boys were mapping out. "Where there just happens to be a crossroads." I sighed out. "You think?"

"Let's find out." Dean said before letting go of my hand to go to the trunk of the Impala with Sam.

I stood in the middle of the crossroads taking in the surroundings trying to piece the case together.

These people were making serious deals, ones that costs them there lives. Was it worth it?

Was ten years of success and your dreams coming true worth spending an eternity in hell.
