Simon Said (4)

Kylie's POV

I looked down at my hand, doing the best I could to keep it from touching anything. It was now raw and red and the burning was increasing the more the wind blew around us.

Sam took a couple of glances my way, but was more concerned about Andy's presence.

My phone rang in my pocket, and I did the best I could to get it out with one free uninjured hand.

"Hey, it's me. How are you?" Dean asked immediately.

"I'm hanging in there." I nodded.

"So the woman, she's dead. Burned up, just like you said." He let out.

"When?" I asked, grimacing as I stretched my damaged hand.

"Like minutes before I got there. I mean the smell hasn't even cleared." I heard the frustration in Dean's voice. "What's up with your visions? This wasn't even a head start."

"I-I don't know." I let my head drop feeling drained. "I obviously can't control them."

"Listen," Dean spoke softly, his tone changing, "you were with Andy when this whole thing went down, so it, it can't be him, it's gotta be somebody else doing this."

"But that doesn't make any sense." I shook my head.

"What else is new? Well, I'll dig around here, see what else I can find." I heard the hesitation in his voice before he spoke. "Listen, don't touch anything, don't even go near Andy until I come back, okay?"

"Dean." I sighed.

"No, I don't need anything else happening to you. This lady was burned to a crisp, we're lucky that it was just your hand." Dean spoke in a stern tone.

"Alright, I'll-I'll stay clear until you get back okay?" I smiled softly into the phone.

"Okay. I-" The line paused and I wasn't sure if he was still there or not. "I'll be back soon."

I hung up the phone and glanced at Sam and Andy who were staring at me, wanting answers.

"We were too late." I said, forcing myself to stand up.

"Too late?" Sam asked confused. "But we were in front of him the whole time."

I nodded and played with the phone in my hand. "I know. He didn't do it."

"That's what I was telling you." Andy sighed as he sat on the back of an abandoned truck, making himself comfortable.

Sam let out a sigh and sat next to him while I stood uncomfortably in front of them.

"So, you guys get these premonitions of people about to die?" Andy asked suddenly.

Sam and I nodded with grimaces on our faces.

"That's impossible." He shook his head making Sam and I chuckle.

"A lot of people would say the same thing about what you do." Sam noted with a smirk.

"But . . . death visions." Andy shook his head and glanced at me. "And you get hurt, like really hurt."

I bit my lip and nodded. "Yeah."

"Dude," He shook his head, "that sucks. I mean, like, when I got my mind thing? It was like a gift, you know, it was, it was like I won the Lotto."

"It's amazing," I nodded, "that you can get anything you want with a blink of an eye."

"But you still live in a van." Sam pointed out with his brows together in confusion. "I don't get it. I mean, you could . . . have anything you ever wanted."
