Tall Tales (5)

Kylie's POV

We arrived at Crawford Hall once again, waiting as the janitor locked up a gate that kept his things safe and hidden.

"Sorry I'm dragging a little ass today. Had quite the night last night." He paused to look at Dean and Sam, avoiding my gaze. "Lots of sex, if you catch my drift."

I let out a little chuckle, my cheeks turning pink. "Yeah, hard not to. Listen we won't be long."

We started following him up the stairs, Dean giving his brother the signal, to check things out. "We just need to check a couple offices up on three."

"No problem." He smiled.

Sam made a noise in the back of his throat. "I, uh, forgot something in the truck." He paused before waving his hand. "You know what? I'll catch up with you guys."

"Okay." I smiled as we ascended the stairs to the third floor, Dean and I playing along as electricians until finally we were able to leave along with Sam who held a copy of 'Weekly World News'

"Just 'cause he reads Weekly World News doesn't mean he's our guy. I mean, you read it, too." Sam let out as we descended the stairs.

"I'm telling you, it's him." Dean let out, shaking his head.

I let out a loud sigh, knowing they were going to argue again.

"Look, I just think we need some hard proof. That's all." Sam continued.

"Okay," Dean stopped, holding up a finger, "another thing Bobby mentioned was that these suckers have a metabolism like an insect, a real sweet tooth."

"Well, I didn't find any candy bars or sugar. Not eve Equal." Sam shrugged.

"Eh, that's probably 'cause you missed something."

"Oh don't start." I groaned.

"I don't miss things." Sam continued to argue despite my frustration.

"Oh, right 'cause you're Mr. Perfect." Dean rolled his eyes.

"What?" Sam scoffed. "Are you still pissed at me 'cause of what the trickster did?" He questioned, making even I raise a brow at Dean.

"You been a tight ass long before that trickster showed up."

"Alright!" I let out loudly, scolding the boys making them both flinch. "Now I've had enough of this crap! You two have been on my nerves since we've gotten here and I'm about through with it! Dean and I will stay here and keep an eye on the janitor." I let out in a huff before turning to Sam. "You go to his place and see if you can find any actual evidence before we go barging in and staking the man!" My eyes went back and fourth between both boys, who's heads were down in shame. "Okay?"

"Yes." Sam grumbled, but Dean didn't say anything.

I snapped my fingers in front of his face. "Okay?" I asked, raising my voice again.

"Okay!" Dean agreed like a toddler who just got scolded.

Sam gave one last glare at his brother before storming off, while Dean paced back and forth anxiously.

Eventually, the sun went down and Dean became even more anxious than he already was.

"You need to relax." I let out, looking at my nails.

"Relax?" Dean scoffed. "We're sitting here with our thumbs up our asses."

"We need to make sure Dean." I sighed.
