"The Tiny Box"

As Summer was traveling back to Virginia, she felt like she somehow left a part of her heart in Seattle. She was happy things between her & Dylan were resolved. She was glad for the quality time spent with her Grandma & Serena. She got to meet her precious niece, Miranda. And although there were a few surprises, like meeting Jack & the whole situation with Nick, she had a trip well spent.

Nat picked Summer up from the airport & was waiting for her at baggage claim with a sign that read "Beautiful Bitch" on it.

Summer: You're something else you know that? Come here!

Nat & Summer embraced.

Nat: I got your bag. Let's go!
Summer: You're the best, Nat.
Nat: I know...

Summer kissed Nat on the cheek.

Nat: Stop it... all the cute guys will think I'm straight.
Summer: Nat, you're wearing a fendi fanny pack. I think you're safe.

On the way home, Nat filled Summer in on Krystal & the girls. Krystal spent a few days at home & then went back to work. She was the type of person who needed to stay busy & just move on instead of dwelling on her problems.

Nat: Yeah, so when you called me, I jumped on the next plane out. I'm so sorry again about Nick... I swear, he...
Summer: He just needed help & I couldn't be the one to help him.
Nat: Yeah. I mean don't get me wrong, I love the guy. He's my twin after all, but the only we have in common is our black hair, green eyes & our mother's womb. That's it.
Summer: So where is he now?
Nat: You don't have to worry about him. He's in a facility in California of all places. The sunshine will do him some good. And I told him I'd visit in a month or so.
Summer: Oh good. I was afraid you'd say he went back to New York.
Nat: Oh no, he's never going back there.
Summer: So did he tell you about his past?
Nat: Yeah, he did.
Summer: He went through a lot.

Nat quickly changed the topic as he didn't like to dwell on the past. He brought Summer home & hung out with her for a bit before heading home himself. Summer began unpacking & doing laundry. She knew it wouldn't be long until she'd be packing for Hawaii.

Back in Hawaii, the boys were getting excited to welcome their families in from Virginia. Devon rented out a house for his woman & his girls. George had planned out an eventful week of activities for Nat who loved the outdoors. And Jay had the biggest plan of all. Jay rented out a romantic beach house & planned out the days carefully. He wanted it to be the best week of Summer's life.

Devon: Man, this place has a barbecue pit & the beach only feet away! You hit the jackpot here!

Jay pulled out a tiny red box from his pocket & opened it. Devon's eyes were drawn to the ring right away.

Devon: Whoa! That thing is blinding!
Jay: I know...
Devon: How long have you had that thing?
Jay: I bought this ring the summer we first met. My dad thought I was crazy for buying a ring for a girl I literally had just met. But I knew... I knew she was the one for me.
Devon: You're gonna make me cry with that shit...
Jay: I'm gonna make myself cry with this shit...
Devon: Well, I'm happy for you man. You & Summer are perfect for each other.
Jay: Thanks, D.
Devon: You nervous?
Jay: Oh yeah...
Devon: Hey, you'll be fine.
Jay: Thanks, man.
Devon: Everything else good to go?
Jay: Yeah, hey thanks for helping me today.
Devon: Anytime. I'll see you tomorrow... Oh & put that thing away before someone reports you stole it from the Smithsonian.
Jay: Shut up, man!
Devon: Bye!
Jay: Bye!

Jay opened the box one last time & took the ring out & smiled & sighed.
