Krystal: Come on, girl relax. You know Nat talks crazy when he's a little tipsy.
Nat: Yeah, but only at the beginning. I swear, give me one more champagne & I'll be back to normal.
Summer: I'm sorry. I guess you're right.
Krystal & Nat looked at each other & were relieved. Krystal would've been in trouble if Jay's secret proposal plans were to get out & especially if Summer were to find out. They enjoyed getting pampered for rest of their spa day & afterwards went on their separate ways to get glammed for the luau.
Summer was sitting at the bathroom vanity facing the mirrored wall & putting on her makeup when she noticed Jay's reflection in the mirror. He was leaning up against the wall watching her get ready.
She smiled real big as he walked towards her. He bent down to her level as he hugged & kissed her.
Jay: I could get used to this...
Summer: And what's that?
Jay: Coming home to my sexy woman.
Summer & Jay gave each other a quick Eskimo kiss & then continued getting ready. Jay hopped in the shower & they kept chatting about their day.
Jay: So, how was the spa?
Summer: It was relaxing.
Jay: That's good.
Summer: But Krystal & Nat were acting really weird.
Jay paused in the shower & got nervous thinking they spilled the beans on his surprise proposal.
Jay: Why's that?
Summer had just finished her make up & now moved on to curling her hair.
Summer: I can't put my finger on it. They were just saying it was the complimentary champagne they were serving us at the spa. Maybe it's just me.
Jay: That's funny...
Jay finished up his shower & was relieved that Krystal & Nat kept the secret to themselves. He quickly got dressed & went downstairs to where he hid the ring. He pushed back some of the frames in the living room & grabbed the ring box & slid it down his pants pocket. He patted his pocket & headed back upstairs. Summer was just about done getting ready herself. She added one more layer of lipgloss, placed a flower in her hair & grabbed her beach clutch & the two were set to go.
Jay blasted the music in his car on their way to the luau. Summer was jamming to it & dancing the whole way there. Everything was going according to plan. Jay was excited, but nervous to propose to Summer. The months of planning were now coming into fruition.
The luau was on the military base on the beach front. It was picturesque & beautiful to say the least. Many military families were gathered around the picnic tables & picnic blankets all across the shore. On the main stage were Hawaiian dancers giving mini dance lessons. In the distance were the friends waving to grab their attention. Jay & Summer were greeted with a lei & a choice of a drink.
Summer: Aloha! I'll have the pineapple paradise please.
Jay: I'll have the coconut dreams, please.
Summer: Oh I see Krystal & Nat.
Jay: There they are.
Summer & Jay sat with their friends. Devon & George winked at Jay. Summer,Krystal & Nat headed closer to stage for a dance lesson. The entertainment was great, the music was awesome & the food was delicious. Dinner was going well & then came the closing number for the night & the time where Jay was to pop the question.
The mc has called up "random" couples to compete against each other in a dance contest. Jay & Summer were one of the couples.
MC: Now this next dance is more like a game between lovers.
The crowd "oohed" & "ahhed".
MC: These guys up here look like great dancers. But only one couple will go home the winner. Now love is a great thing. It's a grand thing. It's what keeps you fighting. It's what keeps you believing. And love & trust go hand in hand. Wouldn't you all agree? Right now I'm going to ask my lovely assistants if they could go ahead & blindfold the ladies up here.
Summer & the other lady looked confused.
MC: Remember trust is essential in love. Ok, are the ladies all blindfolded up?
The MC turned to see that the ladies were blindfolded. He gave a thumbs up to Jay. Jay shhhushed the crowd & showed the ring in the box. Summer had no idea what was really going on.
MC: So for the dance, I will explain the steps & moves & only the men can see the moves. The women can only hear the instructions. It will be up to them to follow as the men lead them... The blindfolds will come off after I finish the instructions.
The MC sounded out the dance moves. The guys practiced the moves. The MC repeated the dance steps. Jay got down on one knee while holding Summer's hand.
MC: Ok, ladies. Remove your blindfolds.
Krystal, Devon, Nat & George watched in excitement as Summer removes her blindfold & saw Jay on one knee in front of her. She was shocked as she looked all around her. People had their phones & cameras out. Her table of friends were smiling from ear to ear. She looked down at Jay. The MC held the microphone up to Jay's mouth.
Jay: Summer, we've been through so much together. Haven't we?
Summer nodded as she clenched the blindfold in one hand & held on to Jay with her other hand.
Jay: I knew you were the one from the very first moment we shared. Do you remember that night?
Summer nodded.
Jay: It was rainy & dark. We were the only ones upstairs. Not only did you bring comfort into my life that night, but you also brought love into my life. My love for you has only grown since then. And I want to spend the rest of my life loving you as your husband.
Jay opened up the box & took the ring out. Summer's eyes widened & welled up with tears.
Jay: Summer, will you give me the honor of marrying me?
Summer: Yes!!
Summer didn't skip a beat. She knew she wanted to marry Jay. She loved him with all her heart. She hugged & kissed Jay. He slipped the ring on her finger & she jumped into his arms. The crowd cheered & their friends joined them on stage to congratulate them.
It was the perfect ending to a great night.
