Summer's "Boyfriend"

Grandma opened her mouth, but didn't say a word. She looked at Summer. Summer quickly responded.

Summer: It's a long story, Grandma.
Nick: You have a beautiful home.
Grandma: Thank you. Why don't we go inside & we can introduce you to everyone?

Summer & Nick, still hand in hand, walked towards the living room where everyone was. Dylan kept his eyes on Nick the entire time. Grandma went over to Jack.

Jack: What's the matter, Nora?
Grandma: There's just something about that boy.
Jack: That's Summer's boyfriend. That's what she told you. Right?
Grandma: She said it's a long story.

Dylan walked over to Nick & introduced himself.
He extended his hand to shake Nick's hand.

Dylan: Welcome to Seattle. I'm Dylan.
Nick: Dylan. The ex?
Summer: Yeah, why don't I get us something to eat?

Summer stood up. Her hand still holding Nick's hand. Nick's hand tightened around Summer's hand. Dylan noticed all of this right away.

Nick: No, it's ok. I want you by my side.
Summer: Ok.

Summer sat back down.

Dylan: So, Nick. How'd you & Summer meet?
Nick: Well, I'd say it was love at first sight, right babe?

Summer let out the faintest smile. She was so uncomfortable, but continued playing Nick's game.

Dylan: Oh really? Summer usually gives it a few dates before she commits.
Nick: I guess it was different with us. When you know you know? Right?

Nick met a few more people & finally got up to get a drink & some food. Summer stayed behind & Dylan started questioning her.

Dylan: Summer, what's going on?
Summer: I'm handling it.
Dylan: What do you mean?
Summer: He's... he's coming back over here.

Dylan turned & saw Nick walking back over. Dylan knew something was up & stayed close to Summer & Nick. Everyone was finished eating & so they played some games led by Summer. She got up from her seat & walked towards the center of the room to start giving our instructions for the game. Dylan watched as Nick didn't take his eyes off of Summed. He knew something was up. After the games, Serena got up & spoke.

Serena: Thank you everyone for coming out to my shower. Thank you for the gifts for Baby Miranda. She can't wait to meet you all. You all mean so much to my family & I. Thanks, again.

A couple people left, but a few stayed behind to spend more time with Serena. Nick put his arm around Summer & leaned in to kiss her ear. Summer tensed up & closed her eyes. She flinched & moved away from the kiss.

Nick: What are you doing?
Summer: Not here.
Nick: Good idea...Hey, how about you show me where your old room is?
Dylan: Hey Summer, I think your grandma needs help with something over here.
Summer: I'll be right there.

Summer walks over to Dylan.

Dylan: Are you gonna tell me the truth now?
Summer: No time. The cops are on their way over here. If you can help me with that... that'd be great.
Dylan: Ok, but you owe me an explanation, Missy.

Just then, Nick stood up & walked over to Summer. He roughly grabbed her away from Dylan.

Summer: Nick, what are you doing?
Nick: I should ask you the same thing? What are you doing talking to Dylan?
Summer: Dylan's my friend.
Dylan: Yeah man, we were just talking.
Nick: Just talking? You're trying to get back with her? Your loss is my gain! Deal with it!
Dylan: Yeah, except she's not yours.
Nick: What was that?
Dylan: She's not your girlfriend. You're not fooling anyone. Everyone here knows she's with Jay.

As Dylan raised his voice, the remaining guests turned to see what was going on. Nick started to feel uneasy as he could feel everyone's eyes on him. His anxiety was heightened. He looked at Summer. He felt betrayed. In his mind he thought he was truly Summer's boyfriend & she was his girlfriend.

Nick: You lied to me.
Summer: Nick...
Nick: I thought I could trust you.
Summer: Nick, listen to me. You need to calm down.
Nick: No, don't tell me what to do! I wasn't going to do this, but now I have no choice.

Nick whipped out a gun & grabbed Summer. Dylan raised his hands. Summer was afraid, but not for her life, but for those around her. She was thinking about her sister. She looked for Serena & could see she was with Brian. Brian was holding Serena & they were ducking behind the couch. She couldn't see Grandma & figured she must be hiding out in the kitchen. There was no telling what Nick would do next. Nick held on to Summer tightly with one arm & held the gun high.

Nick: Listen to me.

Summer nodded. Tears started streaming down her face.

Nick: You're going to listen to everything I say.
Summer: Ok, ok, but please don't hurt anyone.
Nick: Shh...
Summer: Can we just talk?
Nick: Talk, talk, talk. It's all we do. Summer, from the moment I saw you, I fell in love with you. It was love at first sight. I didn't care that you were Jay. I knew you were the woman I wanted to spend the rest of my life with.

Summer listened, but kept crying. Nick wiped the tears from her cheeks & kissed her head.

Nick: Remember when those guys were being rough with you.
Summer: Yes & you did the right thing by helping me out of that situation.
Nick: Because I was proving my love for you.

Dyxon was moving out of the kitchen slowly & Nick's eyes turned towards his direction & he pointed the gun towards Dyxon.

Summer: Nick! No!
Nick: Where are you going?
Dyxon: I just need to take a leak.
Nick: Fine... But don't try anything stupid!

Dyxon rushed to the bathroom. Summer had stopped crying, but was still trembling.

Summer: Nick, think about what you're doing.
Nick: Shhh... Do you remember that sleepover you had with Nat?
Summer: Yeah.
Nick: I remember that day like it was yesterday. You wore that pretty silk nightie to bed. I remember watching you while you slept. The way your hair fell & flowed around your pretty face. Your skin looked so soft. Your nipples were protruding under your top. You looked so damn angelic. I was tempted to do things to you. I wanted to so badly. I jacked off in your bedroom while I watched you sleep, but I left that early that morning.
Summer: Nick, please let everyone go. If this is between you & me...
Nick: No, I want everyone to see this.
Summer: See what?

Nick put his gun down & reached into his pocket & pulled out a small black box. Everyone was still watching. He opened the box & took out the diamond ring from the flaps.

Nick: I bought this ring the very next day. I've been planning this whole thing out, Summer. I'm a planner. I know you like organization & you can count on me to be organized. When I heard you were going to visit your folks, I knew that'd be the perfect time to propose to you.

Nick got into a kneeling position & held the ring out in front of Summer.

Nick: Summer Nora Harper, will you...

Grandma came from behind Nick & whacked him over the head with a frying pan. Summer rolled over & away from Nick. She grabbed his gun & kept it. Serena ran to her sister's side. Dylan held Summer to comfort her. Summer gave the gun over to Dylan & started to cry.

Dylan: Everything's gonna be ok.
