Summer woke up & realized that what happened the night before wasn't a dream, it was reality. Jay did in fact drop in to surprise her, apologize & win her heart back. But right before Jay arrived, she & Dennis were getting to know each other & getting close. Some parts of the night seemed foggy & her head was hurting from all the alcohol consumption. "Ugh... I'm definitely not in college anymore", she thought. She wondered how in the past she was able to go to class the next day after a night full of drinking & partying. Jay was still sleeping & so she decided to get up & her ready for a morning jog.
Before Summer left the room, she nudged Jay. Jay groaned & asked, "What?"
Summer: I'm going on a jog. You wanna come with me?
Jay: Babe, I flew a red eye & I'm just exhausted. I'm off duty...
Jay turned around on his other side & his back was towards Summer.
Summer: Ok, I'll let you rest. I'll be back.
Summer tiptoed out of the room & saw that Dennis was in the foyer stretching before his run. He looked up from his stretch & saw her coming out.
Summer: Goodmorning, Dennis.
Dennis: Goodmorning, Summer. You heading out too.
Summer: Yeah, just gonna take a quick sip of water.
Dennis continued to stretch. Summer ran the tap & held a glass under the faucet. Dennis walked into the kitchen where Summer was.
Summer: That was some night, huh?
Dennis: Yup, you said it.
Summer: Thanks for all your help during Grandma's bachelorette.
Dennis: It was fun. Wish we got to talk more though.
Summer: Me too.
Summer took a sip of the water. Summer's bedroom door opened & out came a groggy Jay.
Jay: Morning...
Jay rubbed his eyes as he walked into the kitchen. Dennis walked away from Summer & back towards the foyer to stretch some more. Jay plopped himself on the barstool at the kitchen island.
Jay: What's going on?
Summer: We were about to go on a morning jog. Remember I was telling you & you didn't want to join me.
Jay noticed that Dennis was dressed for jogging too.
Jay: No, I'll join. Just give me a minute.
Jay got off of the barstool & briskly walked back into the room. Dennis felt awkward.
Dennis: I can get a head start.
Summer: No, it's ok. The more the merrier.
Dennis: No, really. It's fine.
Summer: What if you get lost again?
Dennis: I'll take my phone with me this time. I'm just gonna go ahead.
Dennis opened the door & left. Summer was a bit disappointed. Jay came back out & this time dressed for the jog.
Jay: You ready, babe?
Summer: Yeah, let's go...
Jay side hugged Summer on their way out. Dennis was nowhere in sight. Summer could sense the awkward tension between Jay & Dennis & between her & Dennis. She hated the feeling. Jay & Summer ran about 3 miles then headed back to the cottage so that Summer could start getting ready for the wedding rehearsal & rehearsal dinner. They came in the house huffing & puffing & Dennis had just finished cooking breakfast.
Summer: Hmm, that smells so good. Dennis, you cooked without me?
Dennis: Hey guys. How was the run?
Jay: Without you? Does he usually cook with you?
Summer sat at the counter & looked up at Jay.
Summer: Oh, well, this week we kinda tag teamed in the kitchen.
Jay kissed Summer's cheek & sat next to her.
Jay: Good for you, babe! This one doesn't know how to cook & needs all the help she can get.
Dennis: Oh... well, I don't cook much either. Summer's actually really good in the kitchen.
Jay: Good in the kitchen?
Dennis: She knows her way around the kitchen & she's a good learner.
Summer: Well, you're a good teacher. Dennis taught me how to make crepes.
Dennis: Well, we learned together. It was my first time too.
Summer & Dennis made eye contact & both smiled at each other. Jay noticed & interrupted.
Jay: I've taught you a couple things too. Remember how I taught you how to make the beef stew during the winter?
Summer: Yeah...
Jay: Wasn't that fun? I mean we probably had sex more than we cooked, but that's fun too.
Summer: Jay...
Dennis: Anyways, I'm done cleaning here. Enjoy the breakfast.
Jay: Thanks, man.
Jay started chowing down. Dennis hung the dish towel on the stove handle & started walking towards his room.
Summer: Dennis, aren't you going to eat?
Dennis: It's ok, you guys enjoy. I don't have much of an appetite.
Jay: Alright, more for us, babe!
Jay began stuffing his face while Summer looked down the hall towards Dennis' closed door. She was confused & wondered what was wrong with Dennis. She wondered if it was something she may have done or said.
Michie, Dylan & Brian were all invited to the wedding & were shopping last minute for wedding outfits.
Dylan: What if I show up in jeans & a t-shirt?
Michie: They'll probably think you're lost.
Dylan: Ha...ha very funny.
Brian: Man, I'm nervous.
Michie: Brian, it's not like this is your wedding.
Brian: I know, but the fact that Serena asked me to be her plus one. This is huge.
Dylan: Head over heels...
Michie: Well, if it's love, it's love. Good for you, Brian. Ok, what are we gonna about you two? I have a dress & shoes. Do you guys really have no suits at all? How about a suit jacket?
Dylan: I have a collared shirt.
Michie sighed & groaned.
Michie: Alright, let's look here.
Michie pulled the two boys in another store & they went for a suit rental option. They quickly loaded their car & headed to the venue since Michie was the wedding photographer. Since the two boys needed help shopping for suits, she wrangled them into helping her with her camera equipment.
The Edgewater Hotel was the perfect wedding venue. The hotel overlooked the Elliot Bay & was such a romantic spot. The decorations were up & ready for the wedding day. The venue was a hive of busy activity with wedding vendors rushing about before the rehearsal started. Michie, Dylan & Brian were setting up camera & lighting equipment when Jack & his groomsmen arrived.
Michie: Hi, you must be Mr. Welling. I'm Michie, your photographer. This is Dylan & Brian, my team. We're looking forward to capturing each of your special moments.
Brian & Dylan looked at each other & mouthed "my team" as Michie said it.
Jack: What a darlin'! Thank you, Michie. And please, call me Jack.
Michie: Ok, Jack.
Jack: I do have one favor to ask.
Michie: What's that, sir?
Jack: If you can... please make me look good. My bride is as beautiful as an angel. I want to look at least half decent. I don't want to ruin the pictures.
Michie laughed.
Michie: You'll be fine, Jack. You'll both look great.
Jack left the conversation to meet other vendors. Michie, & "her team" continued setting up. Jack kept looking at his watch & would look at the door. Everyone was there except for Nora & her bridesmaids. "Where is Nora?", Jack wondered.
