Nora: I cannot wait to get my hands on that son of a b...
Jack: Honey, why don't we worry about the Uber first & then you can talk about the hundred ways you want to murder the guy.
Nora: Are you upset? You seem upset.
Jack: I am upset.
Nora: Why are you upset?
Jack: Well, I'm upset because you're upset. Honey, I know we're here on unfortunate terms, but we'll finally be getting Summer out of this toxic environment.
Nora: I know. I'm sorry.
Jack: Don't apologize, hon'. I get it. You're wired this way. And I love it. You're so full of passion & love for your family.
Nora: I love you.
Jack: And you know that I love you.
Jack had a sweet way of calming Nora down. The whole trip she gabbed on & on about how much she hated Jay. It was non-stop. Jack wasn't annoyed, but he was bothered. He was bothered because there was nothing he could do about it thousands of miles up in the air.
Nora & Jack contacted Summer once they landed & agreed to meet at Nat's apartment. Their first task was to take an Uber to rent a U-haul. Summer was comforted in knowing that her Grandma was near & that she would be seeing her soon. It meant so much to her that her grandma would travel all this way just to help her pack & move her things. She was still in Dennis's embrace as she hung up on her call with Grandma. She turned to face him. He slowly opened his eyes & was happy to wake up to Summer's sweet face. He smiled at her.
Dennis: Good morning, beautiful.
Summer: Good morning, handsome.
Summer ran her fingers through Dennis's hair & the two shared a kiss.
Dennis: How's you sleep?
Summer: I haven't slept this well in a long time. Dennis: Good. We should probably start getting ready.
Summer: Wait. Let's enjoy this moment. Will you hold me a little longer?
Dennis: Of course.
Grandma & Jack got around to renting the U-haul & were now in town getting acquainted with Nat & George. Nat continued to apologize for the chaotic state of his apartment. Nat & George were also getting ready for their own move & so their apartment was filled with packing tape & boxes wall-to-wall.
Grandma brought up Jay a couple times in the midst of their conversation. Nat & George eased her worries by stating that they've already reported the incident to the higher ups in their command. They reassured Grandma & Jack a few times about how Jay wouldn't be hurting Summer anymore.
Grandma: If I ever see that bastard you all better call the cops to come arrest me. God help me.
Nat chuckled.
Nat: You're just like Summer described.
Grandma: Oh?
Nat: All good things.
Chatter & foot steps could be heard coming up the outdoor steps. And then a few knocks on the door followed by giggles were also heard.
George opened the door. It was Krystal & her girls.
Krystal hugged George & then Nat. There were a few tears that trickled down Krystal's face.
Krystal: Look at me... Already crying. I've been a mess all morning. I just don't want any of you to leave.
Nat: I know.
Grandma: Hello.
Nat: K, this is...
Krystal: Grandma?
Grandma: That's me. This is my husband, Jack.
Jack: Hey there!
Krystal: I'm Krystal. It's so nice to finally meet you. Summer has spoken so highly of you both.
Grandma: You must be the super mom that my granddaughter always talks about. Your girls are all so beautiful.
Krystal: I don't know about being a super mom .But yes, these are my beautiful jewels, Deja, Kacey & this is Diamond.
Grandma: I heard that you were Summer's first friend when she moved here.
Krystal: I remember her first few days here. She's come a long way since then. I'm proud of her. And my girls are going to miss their "auntie" Summer & "uncle" Nat so much. We pretty much became family.
Grandma: I can see that.
Nat: Summer's added so much love to our lives when we first met her at the beginning of the year.
Krystal: She was there for me when I had a miscarriage several months ago.
Grandma: I'm so sorry honey.
Krystal: This is going to be a hard goodbye.
Nat & Krystal agreed. They shared more memories with Grandma & Jack as they started to gather up Summer's things to pile into the moving truck.
Summer & Dennis drove up & quickly got out of the car.
Grandma: There's my girl...
Summer ran to Grandma & flew into her arms.
Dennis walked towards the group & greeted his uncle who was surprised to see him.
Jack: Hey Dennis.
Dennis: Uncle Jack.
Jack: Your mom mentioned you'd be in Virginia. I had a feeling you'd be here with Summer.
Dennis: You did?
Jack: Yeah, I know a fellow's in love when I see it. You love her, don't you?
Dennis turned to look at Summer.
Dennis: I do.
Jack gave Dennis a pat on the pack & they joined the group to continue packing the truck up. Dennis was getting a phone call & excused himself from the group.
Dennis: Hey dad.
Jeff: Hey son. How are you?
Dennis: I'm good.
Jeff: Good. Look no pressure, but your mom's starting to worry about how long you've been gone.
Dennis: Ok.
Jeff: We just want to know how much longer you'll be out there?
Dennis: It's gonna be another day or so.
Jeff: Ok. Should we prepare the guest room.
Dennis: Yeah, that'd be nice.
Jeff: Ok, son. You take care. We miss you.
Dennis: Thanks, dad. See you soon.
They finished loading the truck in good time & soon it was the time Nat, Krystal & Summer dreaded. It was time to say goodbye.
Krystal: Maybe we'll make a family trip out of it & come out there to visit.
Summer: Yes, I'd love for you all to come visit me.
Krystal: When are we all going to be together again?
Nat: My wedding!
Summer: I'm so excited for your big day.
Nat: You bitches better be there standing beside me.
Summer: I wouldn't miss it.
Krystal: We'll be there.
Nat: I guess this is it?
Krystal, Summer & Nat shared one more group hug.
Krystal: You're strong & you're beautiful. You give me call if this guy ever mistreats you.
Summer: I will. But he's a good one. He's the best one.
Krystal: Well, good. I want you to have this.
Krystal removed her Nevaeh necklace & placed it in Summer's hand.
Summer: Oh, K...I can't take this.
Krystal: It's a reminder that our little ones are up there in heaven. I like to think that they've found each other just like we have.
Summer embraced Krystal & Krystal kissed Summer on the cheek before driving off with her girls.
Nat: Sum, don't go yet!
Summer: What?
Nat: I have something for you!
Nat ran up to his apartment to grab something. He returned with a bottle of rosè.
Nat: Promise me you'll open this bad boy up & sip it once you get there.
Summer tiptoed up to Nat & wrapped her arms around him.
Nat: Don't start crying now... You'll ruin my makeup.
Summer: I love you, Nat.
Nat: I love you, too, Sum. Ugh! Look at us.
Nat wiped the tears from Summer's face.
Nat: Call me.
Summer: I will.
Nat: Take care of her, will you?
Dennis: Cross my heart hope to die.
Summer got into Dennis's car & waved to Nat & George. Jack & Grandma drove the truck following closely behind them. They reconvened at Dennis's hotel. Summer wasn't quite ready to leave Virginia. She wanted to bring Dennis to one more spot.
