The Next Day
I woke up and started getting ready for practice. I took a shower and got my practice stuff out. I looked in the mirror and saw my eyes were red and puffy from crying. I missed Alex, but all we do is argue now. I finished my shower and did my hair and brushed my teeth. I walked out of the bathroom and put my clothes on. I grabbed my cheer bag and walked downstairs. I made a bowl of cereal and checked my phone. I had a text from Alex.
ALEX: I didn't know what to say so now I'm just saying it. I love you and I know you don't want to argue. We go through so much but I'm glad that you still stick by my side through it all. I miss you and I don't want you to be sad. I'll see you later or whenever.
I didn't reply. I just sat my phone down and ate my cereal. When I finished I out my dishes up and walked to the garage. I got in my car and left my house. I pulled on the street and drove to my school. When I passed in front of Alex's house his car wasn't there so I just kept going.
Once I got to my school I parked fast. A lot of cars were already here. I walked on the side of the school to the gyms. The smaller gym was locked so I went to the bigger one. I opened it and saw everybody sitting on the bleachers. I walked over and sat my stuff down.
"What's going on?" I asked putting my hands on my hips.
"The guys won't let us have this half of the gym. So we're just sitting here now." Chelsea said. I folded my arms.
"Yeah we were hoping you could talk to Alex and see if he could get the guys to play over there." Amber said
"Listen right now I don't want to talk to him or about him." I said sitting down.
I looked for him but I couldn't find him. I grabbed my phone and went outside. When I opened the door I saw him walking towards me with a ball.
"Alex I-" He cut me off. He grabbed me by my face and kissed me. I didn't let go. I wanted him to kiss me and hold me. We let go after like 3 minutes.
"Alex now seriously can you tell the guys to give us half the gym." He smiled making me smile.
"Yeah. But let's talk first" we sat on the bench outside. "I miss you. I know you read my message but I wanted to say it in person."
"Why didn't you tell me? I could have understood." I said
"I didn't know what to say. I don't know sometimes it's hard." I looked at his face and saw he had been crying. He looked at me and hugged me.
"Were you crying?" He asked letting go looking at me.
"Yeah I missed you too I don't want to argue anymore." He nodded.
"Me either. Baby we can't do this I don't know if we should or shouldn't break up. It's hard for us not to argue but I don't want to see you crying if we do."
I teared up a little but he wiped them away. He hugged me and kissed my lips and neck. We went back inside. He went over to the guys and I walked back over to the cheerleaders.
"Attention" Alex said with the bullhorn. "All basketball players will be playing on this half of the court. We will pick teams and then play on this half and this half only."
"Okay so girls get your Pom Poms and spread out." I said. They all got up and went to their spots. I walked over to Alex while they finished. As I was walking by some of the boys were whistling and making childish noises.
"Hey no trying to get my girlfriends attention." They stopped and I walked to him. He sat the bullhorn down. They picked teams fast and everyone else sat in the bleachers.
