MYRA POV
I drove as fast as I could behind the ambulance. I wiped some tears off as I turned into the hospital parking lot. They took Alex inside. I ran behind them. A lady closed the door behind them.
"Ma'am you can't go in there." I felt tears coming down my face.
"That's my boyfriend in there. I need to make sure he's okay."
"He will be okay. We see stuff like this happen all the time. Just calm down." I sat down in the waiting room. I called Alex's mom and told her what happened. She rushed with his dad to get here.
"Is he okay?" His mom said coming through the doors.
"I haven't seen him yet." I hugged them both. They down with me and held my hands.
"Shead family." I jumped up and the lady showed us the room. I walked fast to Alex's bed. He was sleeping. I saw all the monitors. I saw the blood on the hospital dress where they had removed the bullet from his side.
Alex's dad got me a chair and I sat down. I held onto Alex's hand while I cried. I put my head down on the bed. I let go of his hand and walked to the bathroom. I looked at my eyes. They were red and puffy. I rinsed them with some water.
I walked out the bathroom and saw Alex still sleeping. His parents were standing at the end of the bed.
"We're going to go. It's been a few hours he should be up in a hours. Call us if you need anything." They hugged me and left. They didn't know what happened. I didn't want them to think it was all my fault.
I held onto Alex's hand for another hour. I felt him move around. I looked at him and saw him opening his eyes. The mask on his face getting foggy. He was having a panicked attack. He calmed down after I rubbed his hands. He took the mask off.
"What happened?" He said
"John shot you and then an ambulance came."
"What happened to him?" He asked looking around.
"Um well I know he got arrested and we have to go to trial and stuff. Also your parents came by. But I'm glad your awake now. How you feeling?"
"Hurt but I think I'll be okay."
"Yeah I know but it's time for me to take care of you." He shook his head. "Yes Alex. You can't be up doing everything. It's your time to relax and sleep."
"I'm okay seriously. I think I'll be able to do stuff." I was about to say something but the nurse walked in.
"So how are you feeling?" He nodded. "Well can we speak to you outside?" She said to me. I followed her outside.
"Yes is everything okay?"
"Yes but over the next few weeks he will be experiencing some different emotions."
"Like what?"
"Depression mostly, and a lot of anger. There is nothing we can really do about it. It just happens when things like this happen. It's normal. But it's hard to deal with especially when you do have to take care of the person." I thought about everything she said. She handed me a clipboard and I filled out the information. The nurse walked back into the room and a man came to help Alex get dressed.
I waited outside the room for 20 minutes. They wheeled Alex out in a wheelchair. We walked to the car and they helped him in. They gave him a cane to help him walk. I drove out the parking lot and onto the road. I looked over at Alex while I stopped. I got my phone out my purse and called Niaysia.
"Hey"
"Hey hold on. Jacob stop it." I laughed a little. I heard Alex mumble something. "Yeah my bad."
