A/N: Sorry, but can we just appreciate Calum for a minute here . . . Okay continue.
.
Calum's P.O.V.
.
When Bailey waltzed into our maths class, she had the biggest smile plastered on her face. She hurriedly walked over to me and sunk into her chair, sliding a familiar piece of paper across the desk.
.
"Maybe they are for me." Her cheeks burned a deep crimson as her smile never faltered.
.
"So who do you think they're from?" I pretended to be clueless.
.
"I have no idea, like I said yesterday, the only person I talk to round here is you." She shrugged.
.
I passed her back the note, to which she frowned and pushed my hand back towards my chest.
.
"You didn't even read it!" She gestured to my note.
.
I rolled my eyes and again, pretended to read my own writing though I already knew exactly what it said:
.
I love your smile, your laugh, your hair, and your eyes.
Hopefully I'm not too much of a surprise.
.
I almost chuckled at my failed attempt to make a cheesy poem, it had taken me a ridiculous amount of time to come up with and it didn't even sound reasonably good.
.
"He's not a poet, that's for sure." I judged, handing her over the piece of paper.
.
"Hey!" She nudged me. "I think it's sweet."
.
I shrugged, pretending I didn't currently feel like high fiving myself whilst doing a victorious backflip through the air, simply because she thought it was 'sweet'.
.
One week later.
.
Calum's P.O.V.
.
"What's this?" Luke questioned, pulling a note out of her coat pocket.
.
Shit.
.
"Oh, just a letter thing, I've been getting them every day in my locker for the past week or so." She shrugged, clearly pretending she wasn't as excited as she is.
.
All week all I've heard about where these damn letters and I was still too shy to admit they were mine.
.
Luke opened the letter and read it over curiously before an amused look washed over his facial features. He raised his eyebrows at me before passing the note for the others to read.
.
They too all stared up at me with smug smiles wiped across their faces before Mikey cracked up into a fit of laughter.
.
"Wow this is some cheesy guy." He examined the note again.
.
To be fair, this one had been a little cheesy, even for me. It was a lot longer than normal and told her how her smile light up my day and that I could start fires with what I felt for her and all that sort of nonsense. Well not nonsense, it was true, just cliché I guess.
.
"I don't think it's cheesy, I think it's cute." She defended the supposedly anonymous boy.
.
"And you have no idea who they could be from?" Ashton asked her.
.
"Nope." She stated, popping the 'p'.
.
"Do you have any idea Calum?" Luke raised both eyebrows, smiling widely.
.
I shrugged, refusing to make eye contact with any of them, this was extremely humiliating.
.
Instead my brown eyes focused on my hands, clamping them together and fiddling with my thumbs. I was positive that my cheeks were the colour of tomatoes by now, which did not help the situation in the slightest.
.
"Huh." Was all the tall blonde replied before more laughter broke out.
.
I was about to change the subject before Bailey's phone did it for me. The rectangular piece of technology singing out for her to answer.
.
Due to the look of dismay on her face, I'm guessing that the caller was her father. Ever since her parents had returned from their holiday, Bailey's moods had been unpredictable.
.
She was sad a lot more of the time and things that wouldn't usually effect her, would have a huge impact. It made me wander what was going on, but I couldn't intrude too far. She was extremely secretive about her family life and I didn't want to push her into telling me anything.
.
I kept trying to cheer her up, tickling her when she wouldn't smile, leaving these notes, telling her funny stories, but it would all only distract her momentarily.
.
As soon as she vacated the room, the boys focused all their attention on to me, exploding with questions and teasing comments.
.
"How come you didn't tell us?" Michael asked when the noise eventually simmered down.
.
I shrugged, still embarrassed at their findings.
.
"Hey don't be like that man, we're just joking around, it's a clever idea." Luke reassured me.
.
I looked up and gave him a warm smile, he was right, I know they were just messing around.
.
"Thanks, except now she wants to meet this guy, and what if she's freaked out when she realises it was me the whole time? What if it ruins our friendship?"
.
I needed their advice, maybe this wasn't such a bad thing.
.
"She's not going to be disappointed! I'm pretty sure she has a crush on you too Hood." Michael forcefully punched my shoulder.
.
I huffed in return to his comment, he had been telling me this for weeks now and it was only getting my hopes up.
.
They all began asking questions again at an exceedingly loud volume, and I suddenly became vividly aware that she was only upstairs.
.
"Can we talk about this when she isn't just upstairs?" I whisper yelled, gesturing to the ceiling above.
.
They all nodded and began talking about girls from their school instead. It was so unfair, they all went to a different school to me and they have a great time. I get bullied and have no friends.
.
But then again if I didn't go to my current place of education, I wouldn't of met Bailey.
