Calum's P.O.V.
.
After my mother had said her good nights, I told Bailey to come into bed with me.
.
"No, Calum! You're mum said no." She whispered through the dark.
.
"She won't come back, please?" I pouted my lower lip, sitting up and watching over her now our eyes had adjusted to the darkness.
.
I heard some shuffling about before she sighed. ". . . Fine, but I'm blaming it on you if your mum gets mad." She huffed, coming under the duvet with me.
.
Grinning, I wrapped my arms around her, pulling her as close as possible before sighing in content.
"I really don't want to sleep." She muttered.
.
I rubbed her arm gently, a puzzled expression washing over my face. "How come?"
.
She looked so guilty, her hands began to play together nervously. "I don't want to wake your parents up later on." She explained, keeping her gaze on her fingers.
.
I reached down and grabbed both her hands in mine. "I've got you Bailey, sleep." I whispered, kissing her cheek gently before snuggling into her shoulder.
.
~~~
.
I sat up immediately as Bailey began to scream, racing over to my guitar and hoping my parents wouldn't awaken.
.
I sat next to her and began to sing quietly, strumming a few chords I had taught myself from watching various YouTube tutorials. I was getting pretty good if I did say so myself.
.
She calmed down in a matter of minutes, falling straight back to sleep as I smiled, proud of my new found way of calming her. Hopefully I can sort this thing out for good.
.
~~~
.
Luckily the next morning my mother only knocked on the door, she never came in. I woke up easily, unlike Bailey who stayed asleep unaware.
.
I shook her softly but she still didn't budge, so instead I walked round to the other side of the mattress and kissed her gently.
.
Her eyes flew open, but she soon relaxed when she realised it was only me.
.
"Good morning beautiful." I hummed, enjoying her blushing at my words.
"Mum says breakfast is ready." I informed her, holding out a hand to pull her out of bed.
.
She heaved herself up beside me. "Did I wake anyone up?" She asked hurriedly, straightening out her pyjamas.
.
"Just me, but I got you straight back to sleep." I gloated, proud that I had the power to do that.
.
~~~
.
We were sat down, just the four of us eating pancakes when my mum told me to close my eyes.
.
"I've got a surprise for you Calum." My father told me, before I heard footsteps coming closer.
.
"Boo!" Someone grabbed ahold of my shoulders. I jumped, opening my eyes to see my sister home!
.
"Mali? Oh my god!" I jumped up, hugging her tight. When I realised her, I turned around and motioned to Bailey. "Mali, this is-"
.
"Bailey!" She interrupted, pushing past me and standing by her chair. "I've heard so much about you." She turned her head back to me and waggled her eyebrows suggestively.
.
Great. Was everyone planning on embarrassing me at this sleepover?
.
"Bailey, this is my sister, Mali." I finished, sighing. Bailey nodded, giving Mali a quick smile before sipping on her orange juice.
.
"God Calum, you were right! She is beautiful." Mali exclaimed, resulting in me wanted to sink into the ground and never come back up.
.
Was she trying to embarrass me to the point that I would pass out? Because she's doing a great job. I glared at her but she was totally oblivious. Luckily Bailey seemed equally as embarrassed, especially with the extra audience of my parents, particularly my mothers terrifyingly large grin.
.
I watched nervously, hoping Bailey would find it in her to be able to respond to my sisters endless questions about her family, hobbies, England, you name it, Mali asked it.
.
Her hands were fiddling together awkwardly but she managed to force out replies, until she became slowly comfortable with my older sibling.
.
I breathed a sigh of relief, reaching down under the table and intertwining our fingers, giving her hand a quick squeeze.
.
When my parents eventually finished and left me and Bailey to clean up, Mali was still in deep interrogation mode, asking her all sorts of questions from what her favourite colour was to how many relatives she had.
.
I wrapped both arms around Bailey, hugging her close from behind so she wouldn't feel too intimidated. I rested my head in the crook of her neck comfortably, it felt as if my head was just made to sit there. Bailey wrapped her hands around mine, showing her appreciation.
.
"Aw, you guys are adorable!" Mali sang before ruffling my hair and then looking back to Bailey. "I'm so glad you two made up, Calum's whinging was getting so annoying." She teased me, before leaving to unpack her things.
.
"Sorry about her." I muttered once she'd disappeared, letting her go.
.
Bailey turned to face me, a huge grin plastered on her face. "Why sorry? She's so nice!"
.
I chuckled softly out of agreement, I was slightly nervous she may of been a bit intimidating and I was incredibly relived that they had managed to get on so well. "So I was thinking, we haven't actually even gone on a date yet . . ." I grinned goofily, hoping she didn't think I was being too cheesy.
"Do you want to go and watch a movie later?" I suggested.
.
She nodded her head straight away, returning the grin. "I'd love too."
.
~After school the following Monday.~
.
I was late. Only by five minutes, but still. Late.
.
I'm not the late type, I enjoy being on time. It's lame I know, but I feel rude showing up late, I never want the person I'm meeting to feel like I don't want to be there.
.
I shouldn't care. I shouldn't care if I left Ashton waiting for five teeny minutes, but I do. Maybe it's because I'm so nervous, or maybe it's because I had a great day with Bailey today and yesterday. Either way, I feel awful.
.
I took a deep breath before walking into the same coffee shop we used to come after school when we were younger. Rico, the elderly Spanish man who had worked here for years nodded over to Ashton's table, knowing where I was going.
.
I gave him a quick smile before shuffling over to Ashton's table.
"Hey." He pushed a smile.
.
"Hi." I muttered, sitting down, not quite meeting his eye contact.
.
"Not like you to be late, it's usually me." He let out a measly chuckle, clearly unsure how to get into the intended conversation.
.
"Not like you to sleep around, but you know." I snapped, finding my previous anger, giving me the confidence to stare him straight in the eye.
.
"Look you have to understand how off my face I actually was, I'm pretty sure someone slipped me something. I was totally loony. Bonkers. Barmy even. I don't remember most things, but I remember some."
.
He paused to look up at me. I was listening closely, I was really interested in what he had to say for the first time since he had told me about all this.
.
"I'm really sorry that what happened, happened. But I had no intention of ever talking to her again, you know that."
.
"I don't care that you slept with her, I care that when you were them fully aware, you asked her on a date." I explained, using hand gestures to emphasise what I was saying.
.
He sighed, running his long fingers through his curly hair.
.
"I know, I just . . . There was an awkward silence in the morning, I felt guilty and she wasn't being mean at all. That just made me feel bad Cal, you know what I'm like. So I ended up just asking her, I didn't want her to feel used."
.
"I see where you're coming from alright? But, believe me when I tell you, she hasn't changed at all. She poured fucking boiling hot custard over Bailey the other week, does that sound like she's changed to you?" I controlled my voice from becoming unnecessarily loud.
.
He looked down, ashamed.
.
"I'm really sorry, it won't happen again. Please forgive me Cal?" His puppy eyes turned on and I couldn't help but nod my head.
.
"Of course I forgive you Ash, just promise me it's all stopped now? You guys are no longer in any contact?"
.
"I promise." He grinned before passing me a milkshake menu.
.
"My treat." He chuckled.
.
I relaxed around him instantly, feeling all the tension drift away easily as we dove straight into conversation like nothing had ever happened.
.
"So, what's happening with you and Bailey then?" He asked causing me to blush as I sipped on my thick drink.
.
"Good, we've only been on one date, and that was yesterday, but I mean we kiss and all that stuff." I shrugged, trying not to sound as ecstatic as I felt.
.
"I told you she liked you back." He grinned.
.
"Oh and guess who came home this morning?"
.
"No way!" He caught on straight away.
.
"Yeah, Mali's back!" I informed him happily.
.
"That's great! I can't wait to embarrass you about Bailey in front of her, I-"
.
He drifted off as his phone buzzed on the table, 'Klara :)' had popped up on his mobile signifying a new text.
.
My blood boiled as I stared at him, fuming.
.
He shook his head quickly and opened his mouth to speak.
.
"Nice to know how much a promise means to you now'a days." I growled, slinging on my school bag and storming out of the shop.
.
I could not believe him.
