Bailey's P.O.V.
.
I tapped my fist against the door anxiously. I really didn't want to meet these friends of Calum, they probably didn't want to meet me either. If Calum used to be friends with Klara I dreaded to think what these friends of his would be like.
.
Muffled shouting was to be heard through the painted blue door as I heard some keys rattling round through it. I silently prayed to every God I could think of that I had successfully managed to wash out all the custard. This was it, I kept telling myself. It was going to be fine, Calum told you they were nice, trust him.
.
The door swung open as I was greeted by a very hyper Calum. "Bailey!" He exclaimed, gesturing for me to come in.
"Guys, Bailey's here!" Calum turned around and shouted down the hallway.
.
My hands lept together and began to scratch around at each other viciously, I wasn't ready, I was not ready for this.
.
Calum's warm hand suddenly clamped over both of mine."Stop it, you're going to be fine." He muttered in my ear seriously, calming down from his previous mood.
.
Crashing and thrashing around was evidently heard upstairs before I could hear multiple poundings of feet racing down the stairs. Next thing I knew, three boys dashed around the corner into view as they smiled mischievously at me.
.
"Hey! Calum here, has told us all about you." The one with fiery red hair grinned, strongly patting Calum on the shoulder, causing a blush to fill his cheeks.
.
"Shut up Michael." He shoved the boy away.
.
"Bailey, this is Michael, Luke and Ashton." He named each boy left to right.
.
They all smiled goofily before I feverishly smiled in return, edging closer to the familiarity of Calum.
.
"Right let's go back upstairs then." The one with dirty blonde, maybe even light brown, curly locks who I think was called Ashton ordered.
.
I followed the group upstairs already wishing I was back home.
This was awful.
.
~~~
.
"So Bailey, Calum tells us you moved here from England?" Luke began once we were in Calum's bedroom.
.
I nodded shyly, unsure how to answer. We were all sat in a circle on Calum's plush carpet and the awkward tension lingered in the air.
.
"Wow dude, I know you said she was shy, but wow." Michael attempted to whisper.
.
Ashton smacked him across the head, glaring at him. Whilst Calum on the other hand mouthed an 'I'm so sorry' to me from below his bed.
.
I smiled, gaining some confidence as I realised Calum was right. These boys were nice, they weren't in a position of being mean to me.
.
"Let's play a game I'm bored." Michael whined.
.
"Hide and seek?" Luke grinned.
.
"Guys seriously, aren't we a little old for that?" Calum raised his bushy eyebrows.
.
I took a deep breath before grasping ahold of the little confidence I had gained from Calum's friendship.
"No way, I love that game!" I defended honestly.
.
Calum grinned in relief that I didn't feel so awkward anymore and rolled his eyes.
.
"See! She knows what's fun." Ashton teased.
.
"Fine, fine." He chuckled, giving in, surrendering up both his hands.
.
"Bagsie not counting!" The words escaped my mouth out of habit from when I used to play with my cousins many years ago.
.
"Me too!" The three new faces repeated before Calum got the chance.
.
"Fine, I guess I'm counting then." He huffed rolling around to lie stomach down on his starwars bedsheets.
.
We all raced to stand up, exiting the room in no time as Michael smiled at me. "We really aren't that scary you know." He grinned.
.
"Sorry, I'm just a bit shy." I apologised, feeling guilty that they thought I didn't like them.
.
"Oh we know, Calum told us all about you." He winked mischievously.
.
I blushed ridiculously bright red at his statement claiming that Calum spoke about me, only causing him to grin harder.
.
"You're blushing pretty hard there Bailey, something you wanna tell me?" He devilishly smirked.
.
"Go and hide, Michael." I rolled my eyes, avoiding the question before running off to find my own hiding spot.
.
Once I'd heard Calum yell that he had began searching, I sprinted into his room and quietly crept into his cupboard, deciding that was the hiding place for me. I squeezed my eyes tightly shut, before opening them again, trying to adjust them to the darkness.
.
~~~
.
I'd been hiding in here for so long that I had become extremely uncomfortable and I was beginning to feel my forehead break into a sweat. I must of won because I heard the boys' deep voices booming on the other side of the thin door, suggesting they'd re-entered Calum's bedroom.
.
"Just shut up guys, she can probably here us right now." Was the first thing that I heard. It had come from Calum, that much I knew.
.
The other boys voices were harder to distinguish as I didn't know them very well yet.
.
"No she can't, she's hidden really freaking well." I heard a muffled voice say.
.
"Besides Cal, I think she has a cru-"
.
"I win!" I interrupted Michael straight away, knowing exactly what he was about to inform Calum.
.
I ventured out of the small space and plonked myself next to them.
.
"You didn't . . . You didn't hear that did you?" Calum questioned, a blush fiercely dancing on his cheeks.
.
"I only heard Michael here at the end." I smacked his back, with quite a purposeful force causing him to wince.
.
"What were you gonna say anyway man?" Luke suddenly remembered that Michael was previously talking.
.
"Yeah Michael what were you going to say." I tilted my head, glaring at him.
.
"I er, don't even remember. Okay new game! Who wants to play truth or dare?"
.
As everyone took their place in the circle I dreaded what Michael would ask me and decided I was going to avoid his 'truths' at all costs.
.
"Okay Ash, truth or dare?" Luke began the game.
.
"Dare." He confidently replied.
.
"I dare you to go chat up Calum's mum." The blond haired boy snickered.
.
"Ew what!" Calum asked before Ashton had the chance to protest.
.
"It's just a dare Calum." Luke grinned.
.
"What would I even say?" Ashton appeared exasperated.
.
"Something really cheesy, like did it hurt when you fell from heaven because your an angel." Luke sang in a high pitched voice, finding Calum's disgust in the situation hilarious.
.
Ashton rolled his eyes before sighing and getting up to go downstairs. We all jumped up after him immediately to see if he would actually do it, all of us hiding behind the wall and listening in.
.
"Hello Ashton, is there anything I can help you with?" Calum's mother politely offered as even Calum began to loosen up and began giggling.
.
"Er yeah . . . I was actually wandering um, did it hurt when you fell from heaven, because you're an angel?" He squeaked out incredibly quickly.
.
"Excuse me?" She sounded shocked.
.
"It was a dare mum, don't panic!" Calum burst in, saving his friend whilst the rest of us, were laughing at Ashton's excruciatingly red face.
.
"Sorry Joy." Ashton sheepishly apologised.
.
"It's alright." She laughed at the situation.
.
Her eyes looked over at Calum, then glanced down at how close Calum and I were standing, raising her eyebrows and smiling.
.
"You must be Bailey." She stepped towards me smiling, making me feel more comfortable and less nervous.
.
I nodded and smiled in return as Calum wrapped an arm around me tightly. "Yeah, we were actually just leaving back upstairs." Calum glared at his mum for an unknown reason, it was as if they were sharing secrets through eye contact.
.
"He's afraid I'm going to embarrass him." She chuckled, winking at me.
.
I grinned before following the others upstairs and continuing with the game.
.
When it came round to Michaels turn he inevitably chose me as his victim.
.
"Bailey, truth or dare?" He smirked evilly.
.
"Dare." I shrugged, sticking to my original packed with myself.
.
"I dare you to kiss Calum." He challenged without hesitation.
.
My mouth nearly dropped open I was so in shock of his decision. I've never kissed anyone before and I didn't want to be terrible at it, especially if everyone was watching.
.
"You don't have to do anything if you don't want to." Calum told me gently. His cheeks burning up as he, not, so subtly hit Michael.
.
I was about to make my decision when my phone rang, interrupting our game. I tapped a few buttons, to find it was my father calling. I rolled my eyes and picked up the phone, exiting the room politely.
.
"What do you want?" I questioned straight away.
.
"To never of had a child." He fired back.
.
"I guess I'll hang up then." I replied before he stopped me.
.
"No, no, okay. I need you home now."
.
"Why would I do that?"
.
"Now Bailey, I mean it you know you shouldn't mess with me." He growled before hanging up himself.
.
I gulped hard before going back into the room and apologising to everyone.
.
"Sorry guys I really have to go." I explained when they insisted I stayed.
.
Calum stood up when I'd said goodbye to everyone and placed his palm on the small of my back.
.
"I'll show you out." He kindly offered.
.
~~~
.
"Was that your mum?" He quizzed as I turned around to leave out of his front door.
.
"Dad." I answered as he nodded understandingly.
.
"Phew, I thought the dare had scared you off." He giggled nervously.
.
"No, thanks for introducing me to your friends Cal. I really do have to go though." I told him before saying our goodbyes and leaving his house.
.
Calum's P.O.V.
.
I stormed into my room and smacked Mikey round the head again. "Seriously?"
.
"What? You should be thanking me, besides she totally likes you back."
.
"Whatever." I grumbled, not believing a word he spoke.
