*Cue English accent*
I'm Adalyn Hughes I'm 18 and boarding the titanic with in the next day.It may come to you as a surprise but my father is American, taming my English accent into a slight one, my father migrated from New York and met my mother in Rye, East Sussex a sea side town with a beautiful town square. It was mostly warm but when it wasn't it was a damp cold that chilled the bones and you mostly stayed indoors. My mom Kathleen was 19 when she met my dad, she was walking home from work he heels clicking on the cobblestone pathway, and along her walk home she decided to go in to the bakery they always had the best bread and the smell uh so delicious!! When she opened the door the hinged creaked and the bell rang, with an Italian gentleman greeting her, she picked the poppyseed bread loaf and as she had finished paying she turned around and bumped into someone rather thick and well built. It happens to be my father James. "Well excuse me ma'am" he said his New York accent taking her by surprise as he removed his hat and did a slight bow. My mother said she had never in her life been more certain that he was the one in that exact moment, she said it was like stars burst, something she couldn't explain and I wouldn't understand until I met someone I felt the same about. "I assure you it's not a problem fine sir" she spoke her English accent heavy as her eyes blue sparkled and her red lips glossed. Then his blue eyes met hers and asked for her hand well introducing himself, he kissed it. She began to blush and said the rest was history. I always roll my eyes at mum when she says that, I cannot wait to hear the rest someday. My father and mother had wanted a "new start" as they deemed it, never sounding more American. So they sold their contracting company which brought in millions because it was Ryes and Southamptons main contracting source. The name was Ryes & Southampton co. They had over 50 employees some even women! My mother believes in hiring women because some day it will be them running the major companies like my mum did. So with our folks pulled we decided to move, back (for my father) to New York. It was a new start no doubt I had been all over Europe but never to North America, they did things slightly "differently" I've been told from fellow travellers. I would deeply miss my friends here but that's what pen pals are for I guess.
*Time skip*
As our maid Trudy helped us load the last of our things into our 5 cars we ushered off on our 2 hour and 21 minute drive to Southampton, I look out the window as the car rocked down our town, and over the cobble stone. I waved goodbye to the cows I used to bike ride past, and with that I fell into a deep sleep.

I was awoken by a loud horn and looked around still half asleep to see tons of people and big heavy horses pulling luggage, and I immediately knew where we were. "We're at the docks of Southampton about to board the titanic!" I almost scream my mom looks back from the front seat with a big smile on her face and says "surprised Adalyan? We didn't want to wake you but I thought you might be excited to know! Here's your ticket don't loose it" she hands me the boarding pass and I eagerly take it and look it over.
