I could feel Kylo tensing up beside me, which immediately made me nervous. He took a step closer to me, and I could tell he didn't want me to notice his small movement.
"Kylo, what's wrong?" I asked him quietly, unsure of what was happening. He glanced down at me with a guarded look in his eyes and a slight frown.
"Everything's fine." He answered simply with a sigh, which didn't entirely convince me. I furrowed my brows but continued to eat. It wasn't entirely uncharacteristic for him to act like this.
A few moments later, a man walked over to our table. He was wearing a generals' outfit and had auburn-colored hair. He seemed to have a permanently smug expression on his face, already giving me a bad feeling in my gut. He stared up at Kylo in disgust, then glanced at me with the same countenance.
I reverted my gaze back to Kylo, unsure of what to do or say.
"So, Ren, this is the girl that you have been pining the return of." He sneered, his eyes raking down my body. I glanced up at him in disbelief and slight confusion.
I stared directly into his piercing blue eyes, mirroring his eye of disgust. "It's rude not to greet a superior. I am General Armitage Hux. That rank means something here, obtained only by a select few. And you are?" He inquired, haughtiness etched in his tone. I stood up straighter in my seat confidently, glaring at him.
"I'm y/n. And you might as well get used to me because I'm not going anywhere." He stepped closer, immediately stopping as Kylo shoved himself in between us, narrowing his eyes at him. A glance of warning. "You aren't going to last, little girl. You aren't the first or the last." He threatened quietly, a glint of darkness in his eyes.
He was trying to find a weakness in me, something that he exploit to win the fight. There had been other girls? Possible betrayal? Connection with the Resistance? At this point, I could tell that he was desperate to find something. This was all a game to him.
His threats were empty, and I wasn't bothered by any of them. I could sense the strong annoyance radiating off of Kylo, and I was beginning to feel the same.
"Do something. I dare you." I spoke in a careless tone, tucking a piece of hair behind my ears. In order to get someone's guard down, you had to purposely appear weaker than them. If they believed that you would be easy to overpower, they wouldn't put any effort into it. And I used that weakness against him. It made it easy.
A glimmer of confusion was seen briefly in Hux's eyes, causing me to smirk in satisfaction. By now, a few stormtroopers were glancing over at the situation unfolding, interested to see if General Hux would finally be put in his place. Or they just wanted the pleasure of seeing him hit a girl. Sick fucks.
Or maybe they just wanted to see the Supreme Leader's rage first-hand.
Hux soon recovered and snapped back.
"You have no authority over me or anyone here. You're in no place to make threats." He challenged, his voice rising in frustration.
Wait a second. He had no clue. No idea in the whole universe that I was force sensitive. I made sure to savor every moment of this. I took my time creeping my invisible hand around his throat, causing him to cough lightly before choking. He hadn't actually deserved to be killed this way, not yet, but as I said, I just wanted to have some fun.
