"Do you have to go?" I whispered, gazing up into his mask, the red crevises catching my eyes. The hanger was full of stormtroopers that were all ready to leave, taking Kylo with them too. He nodded down towards me.
"I'll only be gone for around a day, I'll be back before you know it." He spoke comfortingly, peering around the bay to make sure everything was going smoothly.
I nodded, feeling reassured, before glancing to the side of me, where the stormtroopers were being loaded into the shuttles.
Next to the shuttles stood several rows of Generals and Lieutenants, all of which were standing in a straight and orderly line. My gaze caught on one of the Generals specifically, her grey-hued auburn hair once again falling down her back gracefully.
Jessa. I stared at her for a moment longer, hoping that she might turn and look at me for a moment. Just a moment.
I could tell her anything and everything.
But she didn't move. Her eyes stayed staring straight ahead, scanning the troopers for unorderly or unruly behavior. My eyes followed hers to one trooper in particular, who wasn't exactly in sync with the others.
Leo.
I then noticed that he was only a few feet away from me. Even through the helmet, I could tell that we had made eye contact. I smiled with slight anxiety before focusing my gaze back on Kylo.
He was staring at me questioningly, his gaze moving from me to Leo. I gulped, grabbing his arm to pull his attention away from Leo. "Stay safe."
He nodded back as I squeezed his arm, letting go delicately, watching as he stomped towards the main ship. My gaze immediately shifted towards Leo, who was about to board his own shuttle. I quickly paced over to where he was standing, grabbing his arm to pull him off to the side.
"Leo, stay safe, please," I whispered hastily, peering into the black pits that were his mask's lenses. He nodded down to me, and I could feel a smile growing on his face. "I always do." He whispered back, causing me to chuckle. We stayed silent for a moment before I spoke again. "Use what I taught you, Leo, please," I whispered with urgency.
"I'll remember, y/n, don't worry. Nothing will happen to me, I promise." He whispered, holding his hand up in a salute as I did the same to him.
"Go get em', trooper!" I spoke, waving to him as he boarded the shuttle with the other soldiers.
I sighed, slightly uneasy as I felt eyes staring into the back of my head. I spun around to see Kylo staring at me, his fists clenched by his sides. My eyes widened as I quickly realized how suspicious me and Leo's conversation had looked. I gave him an awkward smile, watching in relief as he whipped around, pacing onto the ship.
That'll be a fun conversation when he gets back. I rolled my eyes. Can't wait.
I watched with sad eyes as the shuttles made their way out of the hangar, feeling Kylo's force signature growing farther and farther away from me. I huffed, glancing around. Everyone was going back to their normal jobs, and amidst the crowds, I spotted Hux talking to Phasma.
I casually walked over to them, my heels alerting them of my presence. They gave a small bow, greeting me. "Hello, y/n," Phasma spoke in an energetic tone. Hux simply smiled at me, taking in my appearance.
"Hey, Phasma, Hux. Is there anything you guys need? Busy work? Anything?" I asked hopefully, open to anything that would help me fill the lonely silence of the New Supremacy.
Hux shook his head, and Phasma muttered a small 'no'. I furrowed my brows at their replies. "Really? There's no work to be done?"I asked in disbelief. My gaze flitted to Hux, who was staring down at his feet with great interest.
