You glanced over at Carol who had become a pretty big mother figure to you by this point. You smiled faintly, "I suppose." You said, turning away from her again. "I'm just worried about losing more people, I've lost my mum, both my sisters and now my dad's dead..." You murmured. "It feels as though everything has fallen apart in these last few weeks. What happens when I start losing people like you..."
"You can't think like that. It'll happen one day and it'll drive you crazy unless you come to terms with it, you can't let this world get the better of you." She said, handing you a dagger, "I managed to get your dad's carving knife before we got out of there." She said.
You examined the carvings along the wooden handle and looked back at Carol, "You're right." You said, before shuffling over to her, hugging her. She was surprised to say the least but was more than happen to share the hug with you.

Even throughout all the shit you'd been through, she was always waiting for you at the end, waiting for you to finally become the strong independent person she knew you could become.
