It’s been two weeks, I stayed in my room most of the time. I went for a check up yesterday, they said I still needed to take it slow but I’m getting better. Jack has been over a few times a week, to give me my work so I don’t fall too far behind. I’ve been getting better, somewhat. I still wake up due to nightmares and memories, but the bruises are fading away, although the mental ones still stay.
I woke up around five in the morning to start getting ready. I got dressed into black jeans, a black tanktop and black scarf and a bomber jacket that was also black along with black boots. Jack said he would pick me up when I'm ready. I still had a lot of time on my hands so I did my hair and make-up. I got on my phone till about seven, since school started at eight.

Around seven-ten I ate breakfast, then Lily, and I walked out to the car after Jack texting me saying he was here.  Lily opened the door and got in, and so did I.  We pulled up to the school, and I felt my heart stop. “You okay?” he asked as Lily got out. “Yea, it’s now or never” I said before getting out. “I have to go to the office.” I said, “Okay, do you want me to go with you?” I nodded. I walked into the office, not really knowing what to expect.

“Welcome back, Emma, we’ve missed you. Jack  gave you all your work, correct?” the principal said. “Yep.” I said, “Alright, just take it slow. Okay?” I nodded and walked out, getting looks from random people. “Emma, I'm so glad you're okay!” Abby said running up to me hugging me, I pulled away. “Yea, I’m fine so no need to worry.” I said, She was taken back a bit, shocked at my tiny outburst. I immediately regretted it, “I’m sorry.” I said quickly.
I walked off to class leaving Abby and Jack behind me. I slowed down letting Jack catch up to me. “Wait.” He said  to stop in front of me. “What.” I said trying to calm down. “Calm down, you're letting your emotions get the better of you. We have every class together so you’ll be okay. Also, don’t stress. You’ll be fine.” I nodded “Yeah.” I said and walked into and walked in to spanish. I sat in my seat. Jack sat next to me. She started talking about whatever, as usual.

We went throughout our day. When lunch rolled around. We got our lunch and sat at our lunch table.  I got a phone call, I didn’t know the number.  I answered, putting it on speaker. “Hello” I said “Emma help me  please, he said he’ll kill me,” I stood up grabbing my bag. “Calm down. Lily. where are you?” Another voice came on the phone. “I told you what would happen if you told anyone. Should’ve believed me.” I looked at Jack. mouthing call the police. “Don’t even think about calling the police”
“Alright, alright, what do you want.” I said “You and Jack met me…” He told us the address. “When?” I said “Now.” He said hanging up. “We have to go. Now. I’m not risking anything, I can’t let her get hurt because of me.” We got up and left.  We went to the address that was given. “You ready?” I nodded and got out.

We walked inside the same old abandoned house I was held captive in just a few weeks ago. I heard crying coming from the same room I was held in, but also rescued in. I opened the door and walked in, even though I was petrified, I kept it together for Lily. She had a cut on her face, she looked beaten and so scared  “How did you get out; I thought you were being held in central booking?” I said, he smirked. “Babygirl, You watch way too many crime shows.” He said sending chills down my back. That somehow gave him some sort of pleasure.  “Now, I told you what would happen if you told anyone, and you told. Now you have to pay the price.” He said,

I looked at Lily, she was sitting on the bed with her head against the headboard. “She is just thirteen, she doesn’t deserve this.” I said, he smirked. “I know, it’s about time she learns how to be a real woman.” Rick walked to her and she tried scooting back, realizing she had nowhere to go. “Rick, don’t hurt her, she doesn’t deserve this, just let her go and we can talk about this. Jack said, trying to reason with him. He stopped and turned towards us.

“SHUT THE HELL UP” he yelled, causing me and Lily to jump.  Why does he enjoy what he does? Watching people squirm in terror. Giving him pleasure, and power.  He started walking over to Lily again, I saw the terror in her eyes; recognizing the look she had was the same as mine, knowing what was about to happen, yet not fighting back.
“D-don’t please…” Lily pleaded quietly.  Rick grabbed her arm while pulling out a gun, placing Lily in front of him and he wrapped his right arm around her neck, placing the gun to her temple.  He’s left-handed.  “Rick don’t” I pleaded repeatedly.

So many thoughts running through my head.  I inched forward, wondering what he would do if one of us moved. “Don’t move bitch.” he said pointing the gun at me then cocking the gun. I stopped in my tracks and put my hands up in surrender; “It’s me you want, right? Let her go.” I said  quietly moving forward. I knew all he had to do now was pull the trigger; that wasn’t what made me nervous. What made me nervous was whether he would pull the trigger or not.

“Let her go.” I said calmly. He pointed the gun back at Lily. He’s too nervous, but I can’t risk it.  “Why are you doing this, she doesn’t deserve this.” I asked inching forward yet again. I was only a few inches away from him. “Bitch I said don’t move! Besides, two of you are better than one.”  He yelled aiming the gun back at me.

Jack was a few steps behind me, to the right. I knew Rick could pull the trigger and kill me, yet something told me he wouldn’t. “Don’t do this.” Jack said I stopped for a moment recalling what I learned. It seemed as though everything was in slow motion.
