Emma was inching up to Rick, waiting for him to pull the trigger. I don’t know exactly what happened but the next thing I knew she was the one with the gun. She had shot him twice before, would she do it again?
I thought to myself, Rick put his hands up in surrender; taunting Emma saying she wouldn’t pull the trigger. She hated taunting more than anything, other than being challenged. If you told her she wasn’t gonna do something, she didn’t stop until she proved you wrong.
Her gaze flickered from Lily, to Rick. “You don’t have the guts to pull the trigger. This isn’t one of your crime shows. This is real life.” Rick said, putting his hands down, “You’re only bluffing.” He stepped closer to her, she placed her right leg behind her. “I wouldn’t be so sure about that.” She said in a stern voice.

I made eye contact with Lily; I’d seen the same look painted on her face that Emma had on her a month ago. I glanced at Emma and Rick, I didn’t see the slightest ounce of fear in Emma’s eyes. I looked back at Lily, not really knowing what to do. “Take Lily and get out of here. Call the police. Go” Lily ran over to me, “But-”

“GO, NOW.” She yelled. Lily ran out of the room, and to the car. I helped her in and called the police. They were on our way. I told them to bring an ambulance just in case.
When the police got there, they took Lily in one car. We heard commotion then  two gunshots, the police ran in; I tried but they held me back. I looked at Lily as she was sitting in the ambulance getting checked.  Then it was my turn, they carried out a body, in a black body bag.

I felt my heart shatter into a million pieces, assuming the worst scenario possible. A beautiful day, for the worst events to take place. I hopped off of the ambulance, my heart beating so fast I could hear it in my ears. I glanced at the body bag wondering if it was Emma or not. When I left she was the one with the gun.
“It’s finally over, case closed.” I heard a voice I was ecstatic to hear. I turned and pulled her into my embrace. “I’m okay, don’t worry.” She said, I let her go, not really wanting to. “Where’s Lily?” I gestured to the car she was sitting in. She ran over to her picking her up and spinning her around. They exchanged words that I couldn’t hear. I was pulled out of my thoughts by detective Hughes. “Hey, we need to get yalls statements.” I nodded. I glanced over at Emma, detective Porter walked over to Emma and Lily. “So, what happened?” Hughes asked, I told her everything up until Emma told us to leave. She nodded and thanked me; walking away from me and to Lily.

We were escorted away from the crime scene by the police and dropped off at the hospital. It’s over, all of it, finally over.  I thought to myself as I walked into the room.
