Although I was there at the party, I wasn't in the party mood. I looked over at Naomi every once and a while from across the room. Where ever I was, she wasn't. Naomi talked to a random guy and from where I was standing, she was really enjoying the conversation.
"Dude this is an awesome party," Xavier comes up to me, a blunt in his hand. "I feel like it's my birthday. Why are you sitting alone?"
I shake my head, "No reason, can I hit that?"
"Of course, mi amigo," Xavier responds. "Actually, You keep that and Imma go roll another one."
I look at the blunt, "Dude, this isn't even a bud."
Xavier just shrugs and runs off. I laugh to myself before I make eye contact with Naomi. I was making my way to her until I was pulled around to come face to face with Isla.
I didn't think she would actually come. I was just trying to be friendly, but I think she misinterpreted it as flirting. Don't get me wrong, Isla seems pretty nice, but I'm not the type for the one night stands.
"Hey, I made it," She says, smiling up at me.
"Hey, you did," I start. "I'm glad you could make it."
"I actually brought more to drink, so do you think you could help me with them?"
I nod, "Yeah, sure." I put the blunt behind my ear and follow her outside and we walk a good distance to her car. She pops open her trunk, which allows me to see the supply of alcohol she has.
"Wow," I say, looking at her in disbelief.
She puts her hands on her hips and shrug, "Yeah, I know it's a lot, but it's a good thing, right? I mean, people are flooding out of the house."
I look back at Naomi's house and Islas was right. Naomi must've had a hundred people inside her house and that didn't even include her backyard or the basement.
"Yeah, you're right about that," I respond, grabbing the majority of the cases, while she carries the other two. People cleared out of the way so I can get into the house, but as soon as I dropped the cases, it was free reign. Isla and I look at each other and laugh before taking a beer each.
"Hey, you wanna go somewhere private and talk," Isla asks, moving closer to me.
I shrug. What the hell? "Yeah, sure let's talk. Let's head upstairs."
I walk up the stairs and Isla trails behind me, holding onto the back of jeans to not lose me in the crowd. I let Isla walk into Naomi's room first before I close the door behind us. Before I had the chance to speak, her mouth was on mine and she pushed me onto the bed. My eyes were wide open as I saw the acid tab on her mouth. She pushes it into my mouth and I unintentionally swallow. Realizing what she had done, I attempt to push her off of me softly.
But that was before the door opened.
Naomi stood there, cup in hand and eyes numb to any emotion. I pushed Isla off of me and attempted to talk to her, but Naomi only held a hand up and Isla held me around the neck.
"Just don't get anything on my sheets, please," She says, before closing the door.
"You heard the girl," Isla whispers in my ear. "Let's finish what we started.
