- i once again start my fic by saying, god i love this man
- i also like to imagine that this byleth is so much less expressive than female byleth even after he gets closer with his house
- if you're a student, he's really wary of getting involved with you romantically before the war
- really wants to keep everything professional so that no goodbyes are too hard should anything happen
- he's an ex mercenary, for crying out loud, he's used to always being moving and originally he only imagined this job to be a temporary thing

- you're in the middle of a war! no time for relationships when you don't know who could die
- it's better to keep people at a distance so that your emotions aren't in the way if they perish

- he's extremely protective over you and will take many many many sword stabs for you which you of course would not want but still he would

- like he'll let you give him a kiss on the cheek or place your hand over his but that. is. it.
- he still believes in maintaining a strong and professional image to be taken seriously
- but alone he's so soft
- it makes me melt thinking about it
- i can just imagine on nights after a long battle, after you've all returned back to the monastery
- he follows you into your shared room and as you turn around to say something, he just wraps his arms tightly around you
- your head is tucked in the crook of his neck as his cheek rests against your temple
- occasionally he'll turn his head to press a small kiss to the side of yours
