I don't want to wake up. I know I have the option to stay hidden, to allow Titan to keep control, but I miss Levi. I miss living. Is this how Titan feels all the time? Watching someone else's life play out before their eyes while not being able to really be a part of it? I'm starting to understand why he's come to resent me...

Fortunately, Titan is tired so it's easy enough for me to take control but I'm scared to open my eyes. I know once I do that I'll have to commit. I'll have to face Levi after my breakdown and I'll have to go to court.

I don't know where I am. Maybe Levi moved me, maybe he didn't. I won't know until I commit to starting another day. I sigh and just do it, opening my eyes and taking in my surroundings.

Xander waves at me. "Hey, Eren. You're back. Levi's taking a piss, but he'll be back soon."

I rub my eyes. "He made you... watch me while he takes a piss?"

"Yes. So you wouldn't wake up scared and lonely."

I find myself smiling fondly. "He's too kind. How are you? Did Titan do anything weird?"

"He got into a drinking contest with Ryder and Mel." Xander chuckles.

"Oh no." I cover my face. "So that's why I feel like I got run over by a train."

"I thought you'd like being run over by a train," Levi says as he walks in. "You can leave now, Xander. I want to talk to Eren."

"Find me some train tracks you cowards, I'll do it right now!"

"Everyone has limits, Levi." I groan. "Even masochists."

"I know." He sits on my bed and Xander bows awkwardly before running off. "Eren..."

"I'm sorry..." I hang my head. "I shouldn't have scared you, any of you, I was just... I needed some time to just not... exist."

He starts massaging my shoulders. "It's okay. You're okay. That's all that matters." He props his head up on my head. "You heard Titan's and my conversation regarding you two merging, correct?"

I nod. "He was thinking about me too much and it kind of forced me to surface. I'm sorry I made him spill your tea! And I'm sorry he killed your boner."

"I'm fine. Let's just talk about you and the two of you."

"Okay."

"Talk to me."

"It felt so real." I shudder. "Everything he did, everything he said. It all made me feel like I was fucking seven years old again, trapped in this four walled hell with no hope of escape. He said he wanted to take me back, to finish what he'd started."

"That won't happen. I'm here."

"I hate not knowing what he did to me. Like really did."

"Maybe you'll remember." Levi's hands' movements continue.

"Maybe I don't want to. I grew a fucking limb back, Levi, I'm a freak!" I close my eyes and focus on Levi's touch, syncing my breathing up with it. "Does it even still work like that? I mean, my wounds heal a little faster but certainly not like... that fast."
