noun

an instance of returning home

"Grisha Jaeger is guilty."

I haven't registered a thing since we heard that sentence. Titan retreated to his room, leaving me alone. The voices are also strangely silent which is both nice and eerie.

I come to, hearing Levi's voice. "Huh?"

"Hey, Eren." Levi says softly. "It's been a week since the verdict. How are you feeling?"

"I'm okay." I smile softly.

"Only okay?" Levi frowns. "That's too bad."

"I mean, I'm happy, it just doesn't feel real."

"Well, if you were feeling as fantastic as I'd hoped, we'd be going home today, but since you're not, I guess we can try again next week."

"No!" My eyes widen. "I wanna go home. I feel amazing."

"Only half of you does."

"Rude," I stick my tongue out. "We're two wholes remember. I don't know what's up with him."

Levi pulls me down onto the bed and crawls into my lap. "Is Titan not ready to go home, see Izzy?"

"I don't know Levi, maybe you should ask him." I roll my eyes.

He shrugs, kissing me. "I don't think he wants to talk to me. Maybe he's scared that he's not needed anymore because Grisha got the death sentence. He feels obsolete and thinks he's better off gone, maybe."

"If he wants to fucking talk then he should ask me, not play games."

I wince. "Titan says-" I pause, dissociating as Titan nudges me over, taking partial control. "I said you should just ask me to talk instead of playing games." He huffs.

"Titan?" Levi cocks his head to the side. "Would you be willing to talk to me?"

Our cheeks redden. "Yes."

"That's nice. I was thinking that you didn't Need me anymore."

"You're stupid." We cuddle up against him. "I'll always need you."

"I'm glad. Why did you leave us?" Levi asks.

"It felt anti-climactic. Instead of making me happy, it just made me feel worse." We sigh. "Eren hasn't even registered it yet."

"Why did it make you feel worse?" Levi kisses our knuckles.

"I don't know. I just never really learned how to accept success."

"Coming home good enough for you?" Levi pushes us flush with the bed and straddles us, his lips moving to our ear. "Is sharing our bed good enough for you?"

We close our eyes. "Yes."

"Then how about we come home today? Right now?" Levi's teeth graze our neck.

"Please," we beg. "We've spent enough time in this damn room. Take us home, god."

Levi moves away from our neck and nods, hands slowly moving to the hem of our gown and beginning to remove it painstakingly slow. "Are you going to miss it here?"

"Not as long as we have you."

Levi grins as he removes the gown all the way. "Not going to miss Lynne training or music class with good ol' Mel?"
