"You're lucky that Eren caught you when you passed out and that Ryder was there to make sure you were okay."

I squint, an unimpressed noise coming from the back of my throat as Hanji shines a light in my eyes.

"Take this seriously, Levi. You could have gotten a concussion!" Hanji berates me.

"But I didn't, meaning I'm free to go." I move to stand up only to have Hanji force me back onto the patient's bed.

"No, Levi. You listen here right fucking now. My infirmary, my rules. You aren't the head doctor here, I am. You collapsed right after court due to all of the stress and emotions you let buildup and the fact that you haven't been caring about your physical health either. You were fucking dehydrated as all hell. That's why you're on this IV."

I glare at the tube inserted into my skin before my gaze flickers to Ryder. "I'm fine, just working hard."

"You need a break."

"No, I don't. I'm—"

"That wasn't a suggestion, Levi. It's an order." Hanji's voice is serious. "Go home. Don't come back until I call you."

"But Ere—"

"No buts! I swear, Levi! How the hell do you think you can take care of Eren when you can't even take care of yourself?" Hanji massages their temples.

My mouth opens and closes like a fish and I'm left staring at the floor tiles, my left hand shaking as my right leg bounces up and down uncontrollably.

"Okay. I understand," I force through gritted teeth, my distaste acidic.

Hanji nods before leaving to meet with Erwin or something, claiming that Ryder can remove the IV when he sees fit.

I sob.

Ryder sets a reassuring hand on my shoulder. "You can probably visit him sometimes but you really need this break."

"I-I should be with them," I choke on another cry.

"I'll take care of them." Ryder wipes my tears gently.

"This is the worst time for me to go." I shake. "I Need to be with them right now. There isn't even a verdict yet—"

"I will take care of them." He promises, more assertive this time. "You need to rest. You're no good to them like this."

I bury my face in his chest. "I'm such a mess. I haven't slept in ages."

"You'll get some sleep, one way or another." He rubs my back soothingly, planting a kiss on my forehead. "You've done so much for Eren. It's time to start doing things for you."

"Y-Yeah," I stutter, gripping his shirt. "Ryder..."

"Yes?"

"Don't tell Erwin I told you this, but you got it, the position of head nurse."

Ryder's eyes widen and he smiles. "Thank you, sir, Levi, thank you so much." He hugs me tighter.

"You're welcome." I flip his ponytail. "Now get to work, Head Nurse."

Ryder kisses me and leaves.

I wave farewell, the brunet already gone.
