"Come on," I mumbled, frantically pressing the controls on my phone screen.

I heard Kenma scoff beside me then released a special move that decreased my avatar's HP.

The next thing I knew, I lost.

"Kenmaaaa," I whined, clearly upset with the situation.

The two of us sat on the floor of the gym. Their volleyball practice haven't started yet so I decided to challenge Kenma in a game, though it ended pretty quick.

"Better level up next time if you wanna compete again," He points out.

I sighed. Leveling up is a pain in butt for it takes a lot of time and I need to manage my school stuff since the teachers started bombarding assignments after assignments.

"Kenma!" At a distance, I spotted the grey-haired Russian who's waving his hand frantically at our direction.

" Help me practice with my spikes!"

I turned my head to Kenma, who already has an exasperated look in his face.

"Annoying," He muttered then stood up on his feet .

Well, the practice is probably starting so I better get going.

"(F/n)?"

"Um, yes?" I snapped out of my thoughts, answering the question of Kenma.

"Can you wait for me once I'm done with my practice?" He mumbled, his voice low,as if he's embarrassed to ask me.

" I have something to give you,"

"In that case-" I stood up and slung my bag across my shoulder. " I'll be watching your practice on the bleachers."

"Okay."

I watch him walk to the direction of the team members. Kuroo, the team captain had a large grin stretched across his face. Muttering something to Kenma's ear, Kuroo then lets out a hearty chuckle before patting his back.

I proceeded up to the bleachers. upon taking a seat, I could see that they have started to practice.

Even though I was quite far from them, I could still hear their sneakers squeak against the wooden floor as well as the sounds of the balls being spiked or blocked.

"ARGGHHHH!"

Lev screamed, down on his two knees. The other team members, blanked-faced, has seemed to get used to his reaction.

Time seemed to slip by and once I knew it, the practice has ended.

I scanned the surroundings before leaving to find Kenma, who was at the exit of the gym.

"I'm going with (l/n)," He tells Kuroo, not noticing my presence.

"Okay then, good luck with your plan."

"Plan?" I asked, curious of the topic they're talking about.

The two nearly jumped off their feet upon hearing my question. I watched Kuroo let out a shaky laugh as Kenma fiddles with his fingers.

"I just remembered, I have to finish my homework so-" He took a step back. "Bye!" He dashes out of the gym.

I turned my head to Kenma, observing the expression that was on his face. His cat-like eyes adverts from my direction, his cheeks pink-tinted.

It's probably from the practice.

"(F/n)-"I raised my hand up, stopping him.

"You don't have to answer my question, besides-" I spotted the sun setting, turning the sky in a shade of orange and pink. " I think I should be heading home by now."

"Oh, sorry for making you wait. I'll walk you home, I guess." He mumbles.

I could feel the corners of my lips tug into a smile. It was the first time that Kenma had decided to accompany me, usually I was the one asking if him so it was quite refreshing.

" Okay then." I followed him out of the gym.

It was awfully quite, only the sounds of our footsteps could be heard. It was weird since we would chat about games we played and he would give me tips on how to level up and get some good gacha pulls.

Kenma abruptly stopped in his tracks then turned to my direction.

"I forgot."

He opens his back real quick then rummaged through it, probably finding something.

"Forgot what?"

Did he leave something in the gym? Classroom?

" To give you this."

He tossed me a pokeball.
Frantically, I caught the it with both of my hands.

Examining it, I've noticed that it's one of those pokeballs you buy to get a random pokemon figure inside.

"Thanks Kenma," I said, a tiny smile forming on my lips.

Looking embarrassed, he adverts his eyes, before proceeding to walk towards the sidewalk leading to the train station.

Awww, that's sweet of him to get me a present.

I giggled as I fastened my pace to reach him.

Along the way, I shook the pokeball, trying to guess what pokemon could be inside.

Huh?

It sounded hollow, like there's nothing inside it.

"That's weird." I opened it, revealing a folded piece of paper inside.

I took it out, unfolded it then read it's contents.

You caught Kenma's heart, will you-

a.) Release it back to the wild.
b.) Keep it.
c.) Give a response next time.

"This is-" The realization slowly hitting my dense self.

A confession!?

Heat was rushing to my cheeks. It made a lot of sense since he's been acting weirdly today.

I stared at his silhouette on the grey pavement, thinking of a response to the confession letter.

"Kenma?"

"Hm?"

He turns to my direction, his eyes staring straight at me.

I felt like my heart could leap out of my mouth. The sight of him turning to face me, under the rays of the sunset made it look like a scene from a shoujo manga.

I summoned all the courage I had, to say a single letter.

"b," I blurted out.

He titled his head sidewards, confused.

"Be-what?"

I mentally face-palmed.

Let me guess, was this the plan they were talking about?

A sigh escaped from my lips, realizing that I had to answer confession with a full sentence.

"Kenma, you also 'caught' my heart."

His eyes widened, shocked with my reply which made me blush harder.

Dang it, it's so cringey.

I buried face in my hands, completely embarrassed.

I could his hear his foot steps grow louder as he approached me.

Now, I could feel him right in front of me. Silently staring because of the stupid word choices I decided to say.

Suddenly, he pulled me close, wrapping me in a tight hug.

"That was one cheesy pick up line you made," He whispered to me.

"Shut up,"I grunted which caused him to chuckle at my reaction.
