This is technically my first book I've written that I hope you like. I would love feedback.

I was walking home, like I usually do, through the alley. I had my headphones blasting my walking home playlist. I know it's not smart to walk down an alley with headphones on but this is a quick shortcut and then I'm good.

I was mumbling along to my music when a trash can down the alley fell over towards the exit. I turned my music down and slowly kept walking, keeping my eyes peeled for any movement. The wind was whipping around me, sending a shiver down my spine, so maybe that's what knocked it over. I pulled my jacket closer as I approached the turned over trash can. I almost jumped out of my skin when a cat ran past with a rat in its mouth.

I guess that's what knocked it over.  and have yet to get a new one.

I let out a laugh at how scared a little kitty cat had made me and went to keep on walking but halted when there stood a man, staring directly at me.

I mean, he's right at the exit so I can just step around him and I'll be back on the main sidewalk. Is what I convinced myself as I restarted my stride but this time mindfully as I muted my music. His eyes never left me as I approached and I even managed to walk past him but before I could touch the sidewalk, I was pushed into a wall. He had one hand wrapped around my neck and the other twirling a piece of my hair around his finger that had fallen out of my ponytail.

I stared fearfully into his eyes, my body tense, as he stared into mine with mischief and amusement written throughout his. looked into his eyes to see a mischievous glint in them. He didn't speak but just kept staring at me, seeming as if he was studying me. When I tried to squirm out of his hold, he bared his teeth at me and fear struck me once again. Because instead of seeing regular canines, he had razor sharp fangs that gleamed in the moonlight.

In a quick moment, he sunk his teeth into my neck and I let out a blood curdling scream. He brought his hand and placed it over my mouth as he sucked my blood. The pain felt excruciating as it wrecked through my body from the puncture. It felt like my body was on fire and my throat was dry.

After a few more seconds, he pulled back with a bloody smile on his face. My neck burned and I felt like I was going to pass out from the blood loss. He backed up from me and when I went to move, I stumbled with my knees buckling underneath me. He caught me before I could hit the pavement but the blood loss had already caught up to me as my vision started to spot.

He had to have taken more than two pints for me to be feeling this way. He let out a chuckle as I tried to fight the need to close my eyes. I could see how close I was to the exit and if I could find my voice to scream again, I was going to try. I opened my mouth but nothing came out other than a tiny squeak.

"Sleep," I heard him say. The last thing I remember is being picked up and placed into his arms before the world went dark.
