I woke up groggy with a head splitting headache as I tried to recall last night. I remember walking in the alley, then a 'vampire man' I guess bit me and now here we are. I slowly opened my eyes and noticed I was laying on a queen sized bed in a room that definitely isn't mine. I took in the room as I slowly sat up and it had a cold, detached vibe to it. The decor was all black, the only pop of color in the whole room came from the maroon walls and that wasn't much as it was dull. I was obviously in someone's bedroom but it didn't appear to be any personal affects in here that I could see. Maybe it's a guest room?
I prayed for my headache to go away as I gently got off the bed, seeing that my captor cares about their sheets since I was barefoot. I kept a hand on the bed just in case when I stood and when I felt like I wasn't going to fall over, I let go. I looked to see if I could see where my shoes were but didn't find them.
I shouldn't have expected him to make it easy for me to leave.
I crept towards the bedroom door and tried the doorknob. It wasn't locked, much to my surprise, but I still cracked it slightly in case my captor was waiting on the other side. When I didn't hear anything, I peeked my head outside and took note that the hallway was empty.
The room I'm in is at the end of the hallway and it looked like stairs were down the other side.
Maybe if I can make it down the stairs and outside then I can make a run for it. I've ran barefoot outside before so it shouldn't be too bad. I slid out the room and closed the door behind me. I tiptoed to the stairs and made my way down, trying to keep light on my toes as I went. Almost towards the end, I stepped on a creak and my heart stopped beating. I held my breath as I waited for him to pop his head around the corner but after a few moments, nothing happened.
When my feet touched the bottom, I had to keep my excitement inside for when I actually make it outside the house. I took in the layout of the scene and the stairs were at the end of the main floor. I peeked my head around them and could make out an oven so I'm guessing that's the kitchen. I looked to my left and I could see a living room and in the center of it was the front door. I just had to make it past the couch in front of it.
Whoever interior designed this place needs to go into a new profession. I sped walked to the door and just then I heard a loud male voice behind me.
"I don't care if he said he was going to pay me a billion dollars!" "No this is bullshit!" "I will never help that filthy, lying mutt ever again Adam and that's final!" he yelled. I jumped over the couch and tried to keep my breath steady as I got my bearings back as whiplash hit me. Probably not the smartest idea to jump over a couch right after experiencing blood loss but it's better than standing like a deer in headlights.
He kept rambling as he made his way into the living room but stopped abruptly as he took in a long sniff of the air. He told, Adam I take it, that he'll call him back and hung up. He took in another inhale before I heard him run up the stairs.
I took the chance quickly as I unlocked the door and sprinted outside, not bothering to close the door behind me this time. The driveway was covered in gravel and I could feel it cutting into my feet but I kept going. All I could make out was trees along the path as I ran, hoping to find a main road soon. I looked through the trees to see if I could make out any houses or other signs of life but couldn't see anything. It seemed like there was nothing in the area at all, I couldn't even hear any birds chirping adding to the fear that kept me running until exhaustion.
I had to take a break after what felt like fifteen minutes. I looked behind me and couldn't see the house I had come from so I knew I was making some progress. I caught my breath and took off again. After five minutes, I could see the main road and my adrenaline kicked into overdrive as I picked up the pace. My foot barely touched the road before I was tackled to the ground. My head hit a rock and could feel blood start to pour out of my new wound. I brought my hand up to apply pressure to it but my vision was starting to fail me and my adrenaline wore off.
"Crap, alpha's gonna kill me," my tackler said before I blacked out.
.............................................
I woke up groggy again and my headache was back. I could feel gauze on my head as I saw I was back in the room I escaped from. This time my captor was smart enough to handcuff me to the bedpost. I tried to wriggle my way out but to no avail and I could feel the cuffs cutting into my wrists.
I heard a chuckle from the foot of the bed and my eyes snapped to it. There stood one of the most handsome men I've met in my life and if this was under different circumstances, he could have me in these cuffs for a different reason. But those feelings went away when he gave me a smile and I saw those fangs again.
Why be handsome and a kidnapper? It doesn't make sense.
